👚This year I've started boycotting clothes made with plastics... polyester, nylon, etc It has been challenging, but definitely helps with my 'low buy' ethos🤗

That sounds great! The only thing that contains synthetic fibers in my wardrobe are underwear and outerwear I think. But in these cathegories, it is almost impossible to have 100% natural materials. But I think recycled polyester, for example, is already so much better.

That sofa / couch story sounds horrendous Lia. A few years back, I bought a high quality leather sofa. Must say it has been a very good investment. Reckon it will last another good 30years, or until I go to heaven. I believe in only buying what I love and will use.

Leather and fake leahter are two totally different things. The fake one shouldn't even be called leather because it is PLASTIC.

Yes and all of my experiences with it have been terrible so far... I think it would be great to have a material as strong as leather but vegan but the solutions I have seen so far are not satisfying😕

When I stopped buying synthetic fabrics and especially non organic cotton...I bought a few new linen pieces. Somehow I was so excited to find a linen dress I liked and could afford...I just didn't think until I had already wore and washed it ( couldn't return it) and I suddenly realized one day the large 'ruffle ' on the bottom of the dress was not linen. To my disappointment I found out it was cotton ( conventionally grown cotton). I also bought a white linen top from a department store and only later realized that the linen was such a cheap type and it is much more see through than I like. I should have been more patient and saved up so I could afford a better quality linen. Lesson learned.

I've done this and my best friend is a total Walmart consumer but that aside I'm grateful that I'm more AWARE now and evolving.

Thanks for this video. About the phone #simlock I'm almost sure there are shops that take the simlocks off. Keep up the good work!

In the UK we can get mobile phones unlocked. Costs just a few pounds so the second hand phone market is booming. I bought a second hand smart phone for less than half of full price and I hot a six month guarantee. Only the young adults who are desperate for the latest design electronic pays full price! Quite a lot of the mobiles are less than a year old!

While it is true that most vegan leathers are made from plastic some are made from a variety of nature-based products, such as those derived from cork, bark, pineapple leaves or apple peel. These aren’t great yet but given time will be improved upon.

I did the exact same thing with produce bags two years ago. I bought plasticky woven bags and regretted it right away. I still have them and use them but regret not buying ones made from a sustainable fabric.

Hi Lia! Would you consider doing a toiletries video? I'm trying to downsize my toiletries, already switched to water only on my face. I'm interested to see what you have/do!

Could you have had the smartphone unlocked, instead of having to buy another? We have shops which provide this service where I am in the UK

my brother's Ikea bed-couch was amazing and lasted years, think it claimed to be a japanese bed (what is the name of them?) but it felt as comfy as a normal bed, and i have a bad back

Hi Lia :-) I've bought a few years ago a sweter made out of 100% acrylic. It was late afternoon I went to the small shop which my mum recommended me. The seller was an old lady and nothing she gave me was fine. I felt guilty and bought this one ugly, uncomfortable not my style sweter. I remember it and will for a long time :-(

@@ecofriendlia no, I gave it to somebody. As much as you dont like plastic in your wardrobe I quit acrylic, life is to short for it xD You gave me motivation to be honest with myslef and delutter my wardrobe once again :-) yesterday I talked about it with my husband, I've been keeping so many clothes recently, waiting for "the ocassion". Just like you said, the ocassion didnt come - it never comes - and I have 3x more clothes than I need now :-( About your situation with the mobile Phone in Poland you can Pay money to person who will take off your sim lock xD

Be careful with "leather". THere is top grain leather and bonded leather. YOu will never regret a top grain couch, but bonded leather, which is a very thin slice that is stuck to a piece of,probably, polyester. After a while the thin layer of leather starts to peel.

if you buy things made out of recycled plastic, you fund the recycling of plastic, instead of 'recycling' going straight to burning or littering Turkey/Malaysia/India. If there's no market for recycled plastic, it will all be buried or burnt..

Not sure if a leather couch is a good idea especially bought new. Since it's produced from animals those animal by products are going to create more waste and it's just generally cruel.

Please do not buy a leather couch. Leather is murder! Do you really want to sit on somebody`s skin? Secondhand or not, it is still somebody`s skin. I would rather have a couch that my friends are allergic to, that a leather couch. We really need to start calling it for what is is: skin. A SKIN couch. Please do not do that.

But it's way better to use or buy a leather secondhand Couch instead of putting it to the waste
