When I first started watching New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2018, I never thought I would be so invested. After starting to watch it, I learnt so many things about what wrestling could be and here they are!

You sound like a super cool person, glad you're getting more into New Japan and let's hope that the company comes back stronger than ever after the pandemic!

Slowly dipping into NJPW. I love the style, aura, and overall aesthetic of the promotion. It's nostalgic yet very forward, if that makes sense.

Man I started watching njpw this year and it teached me so much about wrestling before njpw I used to watch aew which was pretty pretty good but when they almost run out of content and started preserving for fans to come I thought let's watch the ospray vs okada match cause I am a huge ospray fan as well as Kenny omega and for that I watched so many matches and wk 11 wk12 wk13 and from sakura gnesis 2021 I am watching every single event of njpw and I love it how they produce super great matches and because of them I also love technical wrestling now

great insights! I didn't even think about the time limits being such a factor, but it really is. the 20 and 25 minute calls during the G1 are always so exciting.

I love New Japan for the 5 things you mentioned, but also the work rate of everyone on the roster. The different styles involved, so no match on the card is like the others. One may be high flying, the next a technical masterclass and then 2 strong style guys wanting to fight. But really it was Tomohiro Ishii that got me invested and I hoped to one day see him hold the IC title. (Maybe he'll get Never again)

There is also the young lion system that I discovered, I find that good because we feel the natural evolution of a wrestler who gradually passes from a rookie to a confirmed wrestler with his own style. In other companies they push wrestlers too quickly via 1 or 2 feuds or long streaks victories that kill any suspense. It annoys the fans and the wrestler is poorly built despite all the promos around him, and there is no consistency when he beats a top card. That's why discovering the young lion okada or the young lion juice robinson to see how they have evolved to become solid elements in the roster will always sell no matter what. You mentioned DDT, WWE and TJPW, I watched some videos from your channel and I think apart from NJPW and the British promotions the one suits for you would be Stardom (World Wonder ring Stardom).

I love the post match interviews as well. Gives that sport like feeling to it. Wish they would have some pre match interviews or some sort of weigh-ins as well for the big PPVs and big matches

I hope you get to visit Japan and see New Japan live from Korakuen Hall and/or the Tokyo Dome in the somewhat near future. You're going to have the best time. Keep up the great work. :)

I've learned so much about Japanese culture from watching new Japan. Even the enemies will speak with a level of respect that isn't typical in WWE or even western sports sometimes. Also how universal the language of professional wrestling can be. At its core, it's very inclusive.

@@SonalsLife96 One good example is the Natsupoi when it betrayed her faction. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/e8l9lM930syVkXk.html WWE equivalent would be normally alot of melodrama, promos and constant bs, is fun for while, but I don't like the lack of any weight of many of their stories, I would I care for whom is the winner of the story between Edge/Priest or Riddle/Seth "freakin" Rollins, who wins doesn't any title or contender spot. Is weightless/pointless drama, I don't follow NJPW as much as Stardom, but I get what you meant, when you mentioned the storyline differences between WWE and NJPW.

@@SonalsLife96 And because of that excess of theatrics in WWE, their titles become like the Sith wayfinder in the Starwars sequels, a macguffins, while in Stardom and NJPW is something with honor, respect, weight, prestige, etc. And those stories are easy to follow, even with language barrier. I don't get japanese, but you get the emotion in Natsupoi and Giulia, for example.
