ABOUT BEARDBRAND
Beardbrand is a men’s grooming company that is helping men keep on growing by providing education and tools for urban beardsmen to master their morning routine. We’ve found that confidence starts with self investment, and allows men to do great things for their families, co-workers, and community. We are working to break down the negative stereotypes that surround bearded men, and show the world it’s the man who matters, not the way he looks.

I think you got it all right. I recently shaved my 3 month beard because of virtually all the habits you just named. going to start from scratch and hopefully not touch it this time around. Just letting it grow is harder than I thought, I'm always trying to tweak it. And lastly getting the neck line has always been tricky for me. Thanks for the tips!

I remember years ago reading things like "the old men stroked their beards" and wondered why anyone would write that. I eventually discovered that when you have a grown-out beard, you will just touch it in various ways without even consciously thinking about it. Odd.

Big shoutput to Eric and Beardbrand for making these videos, used to think i had a patchy beard because while i was in the military longest i went without shaving was 2 weeks. Grew a yeard in 17', realized my beard isnt patchy at all. Recently had a freak accident with a dryer and chopped my Yeard off in its prime. Lol Now starting from fresh!

Shampoo and condition are fine...they do the same thing to your beard hair that they do to your head hair...not to mention that shampoo is plenty mild for the skin under your beard. The only reason not using shampoo and condition is #2 on this list is because they want to sell you a costly alternative.

Been with Beardbrand since early 2016, I remember the faded color thumbnails, the "kickass" intros, when it used to just be Jeff or Eric sitting in a room and talking about beards. Not only are the graphics getting better and better, but the awareness for beards in general has been amazing to see, and I truly believe a lot of that comes from Beardbrand. You've always been not just a company but a community as well. Beardbrand is what got me into pogonology and started my love for beards and bearded culture. I love all the new routes you're taking, love love LOVE the graphics, I cannot wait until I'm old enough to grow me a man mane myself! But until then I'll keep it up learning with y'all and trying to spread the love and awareness for beards. And to #3, I tell this to people all the time!!! They'll be scratching their beard and say it's coarse and itchy and the first thing I ask is "Are you using hair shampoo on your beard?" I've only had one guy tell me that he actually uses beard wash. D: Of course, most men won't take beard advice from a 15 yo, but I know the facts okay?! 😛 Also 3:27 I'm literally dying. 😂😂😂 The moment he did it he realized what he did and just paused. Best moment of a Beardbrand video EVER. 🤣

It's been so cool seeing how the videos (and the products) have evolved! It's dudes like you that make everything we do worth it! And hey, give yourself some time and you'll be rocking the "man mane" in no time! Thanks so much for the awesome words! Keep on growing, my friend! - Jack

I’ve felt the difference between using hair shampoos and conditioners and ones specifically for beards. For me the difference was slight, but it definitely felt nicer on my skin to use products that were specific for beards. Not that I’d buy into beard brand since there are cheaper products elsewhere, but taking care of my hair with the tips these guys give to carefully clean and style has helped me keep my first beard healthy and organized.

I’m about 3 weeks shy of 90 days. I screwed up when I decided to grow it out by not growing out from a clean shave as I was already sporting a corporate beard. I’ve since learned that I wasn’t trimming under my neck evenly on both sides so the left side is like a half an inch longer than the right. It’s driving me nuts but I’m going to go in and get it shaped after 90 days! I can’t wait!

Be patient and give it time is like the best thing i can recommend for starters. I'm 19 so still quite young and let it grow out for 60 days. The difference between day 30 and day 50 was actually greater than day 1 and day 30. It looked terrible btw so i shaved it off but I saw some improvement and will certainly try to let it grow out again. 👍

Good video I think one thing you forgot that is pretty important is Using too much beard products. People need to find a good balance between keeping it clean and using beard products and letting the natural oils from your face all work together. I’ve seen too many guys lather up too many creams and oils on their face.

Hey Eric, I have enjoyed watching beardbrand grow and the content you and the team has came out with. I was wondering if you could do an in depth review on your higher tier products and why they are superior to other brands and blends. I have a hard time spending more than about 15 bucks for one oz of beard oil and would like to be convinced other wise!

+Mr. Kilkenny the reality is the price difference between $25 and $15 is pretty small for a product that will last you three months. Our fragrances are world class and base formulas are light weight and serve the function. Our customer service is unbeatable and we'll forever swap out products at no cost until you are 100% happy. In addition to that our team will give personalized style advice if that's what you want. It's those additional things that separate Beardbrand as a company. The product alternatives may be somewhat similar, but the experiences are worlds apart. -Eric

I don't use hair the cheap 2 n 1 shampoo on my beard. Sometimes I use body wash, I've used bar soap on occasion when left with no choice. Still got a ton of volume as well as length. I don't trim, shave, apply oil, use special product. I constantly sweat in it, get grease and dirt... Sometime blood in it as well as ketchup and BBQ sauce.. I wash it everytime I wash my face... I comb or brush it once in the morning. No beard problems here.

I'm 20 now, I've had a very full beard since 14 years old. I have been pulling my beard hairs out for over a year now, from anxiety etc. I can't stop myself. I have bald spots now that I hope grow back in. I look at pictures just from weeks ago when I thought it was bad and in all honesty it was as good if not better than Eric's. I hope and pray to God I have not damaged the follicles. I'm very disappointed in myself. It started because it was itcchy and there was like one hair that felt bad. Spit end etc. I know appearance doesn't exactly matter. But I've been through so much stuff stress etc it's killing me. To anyone who read this stop pulling your beard hairs out.

I take 5000 mg of biotin a day as well.. my beard is healthy and thick.. been growing it for about 6 months plus.. and at almost 47 years old, this is the first time I've ever grown a beard such as this.. hated hair growth on my neck because of the itching so I always looked Amish but I decided to get over it.. now it looks awesome and I'm always getting compliments on it.. I don't understand the conditioner thing. Hair conditioner is perfectly adequate, and probably recommended, for your beard. Though I should mention that I use a silicon and parabin free argan oil conditioner. Also: using plastic combs is bad (for your head hair and beard), I didn't believe it before, but my beard felt so much dryer before I ditched that shit.

Plucking is my worst habit. I'll feel a stray hair and pull it out, then the next one over will be stray and I'll pull that. Then more hairs will feel out of place, and I'll keep going until I realise I now have a patchy part and it looks stupid until it all grows back, but it takes longer for a plucked patch to grow than a trimmed patch. One day I'll break the habit.

I constantly pull out mine. You say about split ends. Mine seems to be 80% split ends. Also why is the lighter hair under my mouth so dry and horrible feeling??

I'd keep the beard and lose the wife. It's not about the beard, per se; it's about the freedom of self-expression.

Rax it only means you will have a Majestic beard earlier than many of us. I grew my beard at 20 and as i grew older it grew fuller and thicker ( dense is the correct term). Just keep it well groomed and enjoy. ...and don't let anybody decide for you to keep it or shave it.

Beard and hair on point Eric! What length is the hair on your chin? Mine is currently 3 inches but want to change it up and go a bit shorter. I tried the long moustache in the past but it got in the way of eating! Speaking of eating, can anyone on here who has a beard still eat ice cream?

I'd say my chin hair is about 1 inch of length. I eat ice cream with a spoon and a bowl. I've given up the idea of licking a cone.

I'm retired and in no hurry so I don't use hair dryers. I will pat my hair and beard as dry as I can then I let the atmosphere around me do the rest. I love stroking my beard. I'll run my hands thru my hair and then thru my beard thus transfering my hair oil to my beard. Is that a bad thing? I've always thought that natural oils were the best.
