Fun and informative! Good to know that document copies will suffice. Thanks for inviting Baguette Bound for the conversation and best of luck to Jason with taxes!

How fun! My husband and I have enjoyed your independent channels this past year and now here you all are in the SAME video. We hope to join you all in France in a couple of years!!!

Interesting discussion ! Good takeaways with regard to language acquisition other observations. Regarding driving licences, a couple thoughts: (1) understand whether and when your state expires your licence once you are no longer a bona fide resident; (2) yes, the licence exchange is exactly that, even if the processes of notification between two countries is not transparent (that's why the licencing authority doesn't return the old licence); and (3) one should think twice about falsely claiming that any government-issued ID has been lost ... :) And by the way, I've lived outside the US for 15 years and have never had a problem hiring a car with my Irish (and now French) licence, and I always use my US passport for identification at hotels, etc.

Great content - have enjoyed Jason and Reina's videos very much so I'm glad you all connected! As to the drivers license, may I just say, count your blessings that you come from a state with a reciprocal agreement! We are moving to Nice from California and we don't have that benefit. Sadly, all I hear are horror stories about trying to get a drivers license in France so we will have to do without a car. Sorry for the rant lol. Thank you for all the great information!!

Oh, yes. I am so grateful that Virginia had the reciprocal agreement. But if driving in France and having a car is something you want. You could at least attempt it and find out for yourself. In any event, best wishes with your move.

How many times had you visited France and how many regions had you visited before deciding to move here ?

Three times. I don't know how many regions. Maybe five. I checked out Paris, Toulouse, Perpignan, Lyon, Aix-en-provence, and Annecy.

Grazie. I live in Italy now and want to move to France but their taxation on any retirement funds would make it impossible
