Nikon cameras hold up to 9 or 10 picture profiles, on top of the inbuilt selection, and they can all be named.

If you can live with that awful dial on the X-T50, might be an option. If not, the XS20 is great!

Over the years I used all the main editing software to process Fujifilm files (Adobe, Luminar, ON1, DXO and Darktable). For the majority of it though, my preferred editing software for my Fujifilm files was Darktable and ON1 Photo Raw. It's such a big difference going from Fujifilm to Nikon full frame, it really has been an eye opener on what I've been missing. If you get a Nikon, you'll enjoy it 👌

capture one is a great software to process and edit fujifilm files. there are no artefacts in the images and the colour is better (compared to LR) in my opinion

You would lose the slightly smaller size and weight of your gear and the often cheaper prices they offer. You'd lose the extra reach of the APS-C system and of course the great Fujifilm community. You'd gain so much more though. You'll benefit from much improved low light, wider field of view, improved dynamic range, great autofocus, much more detail in your images and so much more. You'll still have recipes if you like them, and you'll have a huge selection of lenses, especially with the FTZ adaptor. The longer I'm using this camera, the more I wish I had left Fujifilm earlier.

Hi: I'm exactly in your same position. Xh2s, lots of Fuji lenses, I'm a hobbist too. Nikon ZF is a big temptation, I've been a Nikonist for years (D700, D750). Maybe xh2s is too much for me, I need a easier camera that helps to take pictures in a "funnier" way

I've used Fuji and a full frame camera so I can expand a bit. Full frame offers a "better" more realistic image quality, but the difference can be small(er) depending on the scene. But this is all the expense of a bigger body, bigger lenses, and usually more costly lenses (though there are some lenses that are price and weight competitive). The XH-2s is a decently big camera though that is similarly sized to many full frame cameras. The Nikon ZF is a little heavier, but it doesn't have a grip, and adding a grip makes the camera weigh ~800g. There's the Z 40mm f2 lens, which is 200g. There's also the Nikon Z 50mm f1.8 lens which is ~60g heavier than the Fuji 33mm f1.4 lens, which isn't that big of a difference. I will say, there's nothing like the Fuji 50mm f2 on full frame that comes close in weight for this focal length. There's also nothing like the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 on Nikon Z that comes close in weight. Closest there is is the Nikon Z 24-50 f/4-6.3, which doesn't zoom as much. The ZF (and other full frame cameras) have good image quality at higher ISO though, which is very helpful for taking photos of pets indoors at 3200/6400 ISO. I think this might be the most obvious and beneficial difference for you. However, Fujifilm cameras have aperture rings which I like. Film simulations help a lot in getting photos that you don't have to edit, which might also be a big consideration for you - not too sure how it is on the ZF. I'm personally going to get a Fuji XT-30 that I can get used for $600, with a pancake lens it will be super easy to fit in my jacket. But that's in addition to a full frame camera that I'll take out for when the day is more photography focused (but I also tend to do some landscape photography where Full Frame excels more at). I may just even downsize to Fuji honestly since I'm a hobbyist anyways. You can search on google "Flickr" + "name of particular full frame lens" if you want to see how full frame looks.

Hiya, and YES! I have already prepared 10 picture profile looks and I'm in the middle of collecting various images to share with them. I'm very impressed with Nikon's picture profile controls, and just scratching the surface. Thank you very much for commenting, it's great to see Nikon addressing firmware, I think only they and Fujifilm seem to do this regularly.

Thank you! It's taken me ages to get used to Nikon autofocus and the way it handles different scenarios. I have used the Z6ii to shoot birds in flight, and it's been more accurate than my Fujifilm was. I know the XH2S has great performance, and know many who use it. You have the best of all worlds!

Yes, I shot Nikon for decades before going to Fujifilm, and then after 6 years of Fujifilm, Nikon cameras and lenses are now more or less the same size. You'll enjoy Fujifilm, I did, it was great fun and made me a lot of money.

I have just jump from a Nikon Z50 to a Fuji x100vi . Due the difference of price, even though both are APS-C, this may not be a fair comparison, but my the experience is so much better with the x100vi !

It is what it is - shooting a fabulous picture is one thing - turning that picture into a "visual image" is another. As long as you stay within "displaying pics on monitors/TV - is one thing. When you actually want to turn your files into a hard copy of a printed picture - the physical size of the sensor is still a critical factor.

@@BernhardSchwarz-xs8kp turning a picture into an image lies within the nut behind the camera not the capability of the camera. How big of images are we talking here, there is not a huge difference between aps-c and full frame and a misconception apsc cannot be used professionally for shoots but many do….if your serious about large prints any serious photographer would just skip both and go medium format….

Thank you for sharing this. Yes, battery life is very different, but I've got used to it with mirrorless over the last 6+ years and just carry a few extra batteries. That said, even on a shoot, I rarely use more than one battery.

Indeed, exposure is not affected at all which many forget about. However, with the hugely better ISO performance, it's great you can use an F4 lens as if it's a F/1.4 APS-C lens. It's things like this that really makes it worthwhile. Thank you for your great response 👌

"This applies to depth of field, not to exposure." THIS can not be stated enough. Too many on KZfaq are misinforming new photographers about this critical error in its definition and differences. It is when you have to recompose with crop sensors to match the framing you get with FF is where people get confused because of the DoF change when moving away from your subject.

Hi Philip, thank you for the wonderful reply. Yes, it really is a night and day difference, and honestly, I wish I had changed cameras much earlier than I did. I'm really enjoying the Z6ii, everything from it's ergonomics, right through to it's menu system. Everything is where it should be. But... It's the output that really blows me away. It is fantastic. I really can't get over the difference in my images now, especially in lower light.

Then it's you as a photographer not the gear. I sold all my Nikon FF and moved to Fuji X-T series. Clients don't give a shit what camera you use.

It is always about making the client happy, and plenty of us use or used Fujifilm. You are right, clients, or anyone else don't care what camera you use as long as you get the result they want. Always important to remember, but also important to remember that there are many different types of photography that sometimes needs tools that can perform better when needed, whether it be a micro four thirds for wildlife or full frame for very low light it insane bokeh. Just use what suits you best, and of course, importantly enjoy and learn from your experience.

Fully agree in this day and age. When I first went to Fujifilm it wasn't like that, but now you can pick up technicallymuch better full frame cameras (which give some of the points I mention) for the same price as APS-C cameras.

Size. When I get the same results from Fuji as my Nikon FF and takes up less space. Flying I would have to check my Nikon bag with 2 bodies and 4 lenses batteries etc. Fuji kit fits in a carry on in with a 16" Macbook Pro and Ipad.

My Nikon Z and lenses take up no more room than my Fuji did, in fact, even my Z6ii is almost identical in size (as I mentioned). The great thing is, it's not a competition, as long as you're happy, that's all that matters. Enjoy your experience, and thank you for sharing, always great to hear others views.

It all depends what you get, Z lenses are nowhere near the size of F mount lenses. But as I say, as long as your happy, that's all that matters. Thank you for you great input 👌

I guess it all depends on what you want from your photography and what you do with your photography. I don't really use jpegs, but they are nice on Fuji. The difference when editing raw files is quite large though. And the difference in image quality is very noticeable to a trained eye.

Thanks for the great reply, yes, pixel peeping you see these things much more, but just editing alone you notice it. I'm not sure about Canon files, but there is a ridiculous amount of dynamic range and low light performance in Nikon cameras. As I've mentioned throughout, and others have too, it's more than just the image quality (which is different). There are so many extra benefits to full frame, but then again, for some forms of photography, crop sensor camera's are needed. There's no right or wrong answer, I'm just starting the things you'll notice when you leave Fujifilm (or other APS-C), when you haven't been shooting images side by side with a full frame camera. Yes, I really enjoyed Fujifilm for the 6 years I was with them. They are great cameras, but it's so nice to be back to full frame Nikon.

@@OneCameraOneLens I love my Z6ii but I’ve heard of many technical issues with both Zf and Z8 that make me want to wait a few years before buying. The Fujifilm is more to satisfy my curiosity about other manufacturers. Haven’t owned a non-Nikon camera so just wanted to see what it is like and quite like it.

Expense is all relative. The second hand market has amazing for Nikon as they are so popular, I've had bargains, especially the amazing 14-24 lens!

Not much difference in size or weight, things have moved on a long way since DSLRs. I use the same kit bag, and have an extra lens in it because Z lenses are small.

Plenty of them on my website onecameraonelens.com And looking through the comments, many people have felt the same as me when moving (back in my case) to full frame.

@@OneCameraOneLens I found that. But I found nothing to prove the big improvement to someone who does not believe it. Myself, I cannot check it because I used an XT-4 only for a few days to test it.

As I said in the video. If you're just using your camera for photos on the internet, where 90%+ of people use phones to view your images, , full frame is pointless as you won't see any difference. Where you notice the difference is other areas, again mentioned. Being able to shoot with little to no noise, being able to shoot and recover detail in the dark, being able to recover detail in the far distance that just gets lost on APS-C or micro four thirds when you crop, being able to manipulate raw images easier to name a few things. You'll see the difference when you open your editing software and start to edit, and you'll see it in the finer areas of printed work. And the best thing is, my camera and lenses worked out cheaper than just going for a new Fujifilm camera. Which again is another positive.

Not interested in GFX for my photography. I shoot a lot of wildlife, birds in flight etc, plus a lot of fast moving objects. Plus, the prices of the lenses and selection of lenses on the GFX system does not compel me at all. Although, I did think about it, I was happy to go back to Nikon, and honestly, wish I had much sooner.

@OneCameraOneLens Yeah, I agree the way to go but I don't shoot wildlife. I can't be bothered standing there for an hour. Waiting for birds to come lol...so for me. I'm a landscape and portrait photographer. And that's where the gfx really just sbones. I know what you mean about when you pick Sullivan on your screen. Oh my gosh, my draw dropped when I saw gfx files. I make a decent income.Add a photography now so I can afford the gfx gear and I have a reasonably well paid day job 😀 👍...

Why? I own Nikon, Panasonic, Fujifilm and Canon cameras, plus often swap back and forth depending on what is needed 🤷‍♂️ I guess it's a change from being called a Fuji fanboy.

As a non-official Fujifilm ambassador almost, I've had many asking me for my impressions as they've been thinking of moving. Full Frame is in no way superior for everything, every sensor size has it's merits, as I always make clear. Again, thank you, very much appreciated.

No problem. I shoot Fuji and I understand the full frame argument you make. I use an X-T3 and my pictures are tack sharp unless I zoom in Lightroom (300-400%) and start pixel peeping. People new to photography and shopping between brands may buy a camera that is not ideal for their budget, size and goals and could come away from this thinking they have to buy a full frame camera/system.
