I stopped asking tattooists for tips etc due to how rude they all were an obviously didn't want to pass on any information as they felt threatened as if I'd take away they're customers. Not saying all artists are this way but a lot are

Agree with you, there's work for everyone but some are better than others therefore sharing their knowledge makes them feel like you're going to be better than they are.

Yup. Hardly any tattoo artist wants to tell anybody shit. Even basic damn questions like "what kind of tattoo gun should I get" or "what does your customer waiver say" ..assholes

Let’s be honest. Those type of tattoo artist aren’t confident in their own work, and that’s why they feel threatened.

Yeah I’ve found the same thing, I think we need everyone to come more together as a community and share things more I mean the more we can share and normalize it the more publicly accepted it will be I know it’s a lot better than it used to be but it’s by no means completely normalized especially heavily tattooed individuals in particular from what I’ve observed. -Holly

Hey. I'm new to your channel. I started tattooing at 16, after drawing for years, winning art competitions. My mom was a crappy tattoo artist but hey love her anyways. I'm 17 now still working on it, doing all my own tattoos, it's going great, I tattoo my friends and family. And I think I've improved drastically but not quite where I want to be yet. I have over 20 tattoos, all but three I did myself. Including handwriting which I have down in the bag. I can sit for hours non stop tattooing and it's amazing. I love it.

I think that was great advice!! I'm a beginner and you were definitely some help. So thank you. I wish everyone in this planet helped each other as opposed to harming others and being selfish. A man can wish huh? Hah. I've been tattooing for a couple months so far....practicing on my own thighs and calfs...a couple on my hands.....all my artist buddies are telling me not to, and of course I'm stubborn and not listening but I see major improvement with every piece that I do. No blow outs...no scarring....just improvement!!!

I've actually had to tattoo someone with 1 hour of sleep, its was terrifying but i just turned down the voltage and took it reaal slow. It looked amazing and i got to go home afterwards and get some proper shuteye. When i tattoo i get into this "Hyperfocusmode" that even if im slightly sick or mad tired, it all goes away when i hear that machine running in my hands. Of course everything that is weighing me down gets a thousand times worse when i am done tattooing and get to take a break.
@ThatTattooGuyOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Lol glad it came out good! Tattooing tired is scary for sure!
@shelbydecker80845 жыл бұрын
I feel the same way and time passes by so fast!! Three hours feels like 20 minutes
@dylanhynes10892 жыл бұрын
Haha I’ve tattooed tired myself but even when I’m not since I’m still learning (only about a year in and only practise in my free time) I find myself go into a “hyper focused” state of mind as well. So much so that sometimes once I’m done a session I find my eyes red and watering! I’ve got to keep eye drops nearby from staring so intently at my work especially when I’m lining trying to stick to a stencil 😆
@OldeVikingOriginal2 жыл бұрын
@@dylanhynes1089 Of course the intense focus will tire your eyes, but to that extent? You might need glasses my guy, doesn't sound too healthy tbh. But I kind of get what you mean.
@dylanhynes10892 жыл бұрын
@@OldeVikingOriginal lol actually I’m a female just using my fiancés account but you did kind of call it! I’ve been prescribed glasses somewhere around grade 1-2 but it’s for an astigmatism and they’re because I have issues seeing far so I have no issues seeing anything close up or small. I think I just start subconsciously blinking less cause I don’t want to blink while I’m in the middle of trying to pull a nice clean line or mess anything up. 😳

Omg, that’s hilarious. When I taught art as a teacher, my students would do sheets of circles to get use to the hand going in a round motion. Makes perfect sense then to do the damn lines. 😂 Tyler, how long have you been tattooing? I’m going on year four. And my apprenticeship was crap, well ok, difficult. My mentor was in and out of the hospital due to health concerns and I was left by myself most of the time to figure it out. After three shops, and a few years, I’m finally in a decent shop with an amazing artist. Yeah, I have lots to learn still, but she sees my potential in my art. 🙏🏻❤️ Another great video man! Even if it’s 2 years old. Loved the cheetos part!

Damn these were some actually GOOD TIPS until we got to tips # 4 & 5 when I was REALLY just HOPING for these to be ACTUAL MORE TIPS about doing the ACTUAL tattooing and TIPS ABOUT DOING IT BETTER like the FIRST 3! Like that first tip on tracing the straight lines thru an entire note book in order to have nicer lines on a tattoo was a helpful tip! And you shoulda said like you can ALWAYS just use a THINNER needle doing your lines and if it’s not straight enough you can make another pass to thicken the line and straighten it out that way in a WORSE case scenario because when I first started that was something that helped me make PERFECTLY smooth lines along with MAKING SURE I also put down some Vaseline or aquaphor down on the tattoo first as well to be able to have it be a smoother surface and also making the skin is being stretched just alittle to ALSO increase being able to help maintain the line and try to stay continuous with your line while only focusing on small sections and not overwhelming your self but constantly thinking of how big the tattoo is and how long and hard it’s gonna be doing just work on small sections at a time on your outlines and find spots where you can stop each line your tracing so your able to have smooth lines and stop points where you can start the next line to continue a different peace and make the entire thing seem as you never once had to pick up the gun and stop and go
