Hi! I have to sit the MCQ exam for CB3 this week. Just wondering, is it solely just based on the college of law material and the 52 tutorials or does it include questions about the business simulation too? I didn’t feel that was made clear on their website so would be grateful to have your opinion :)

Hi. Sorry for the late reply. I had a horrible migrane over the past 2 days. In response to your question in the study material there is a powerpoint document titled "preparatory slides." On the first page it mentions that you need the following for thr online test: i-coach tutorials, financial services industry knowledge, Professionalism: The Actuaries code and Legal awareness tutorials. I could be mistaken but I think I remember one or two questions about the business game as well.

Thanks for this awesome and super helpful video! I just learned that the PSC stage 1 and 2 courses need to be completed in order to take the CB3 exam. Can you shed some light on the nature of these courses and how long it will take to complete them and if I can time my taking the CB3 exam accordingly?

Hi Nolasko. When I wrote CB3 I needed to do the Online Professional Awareness Test (OPAT) and on my exam history I only have PSC stage 1 and not stage 2. I think this PSC stage 2 development is new. When I took the OPAT it didn't actually take long. It was a multiple choice exam based on the Actuaries' Code which is a very short document. What they are really testing is whether you understand how to translate the principles into your everyday actuarial life. I can't speak about stage 2 because I have not yet taken it.

I am currently appearing for the CB3 exam and can confirm that you need to clear only PSC1 for it.

Hi Richa. Unfortunately it has been a few years since I wrote the CB3 exam so I do not know off hand. Generally speaking though, non-paper based study material is usually available within a week.

You can take it anytime you want.

Hi @skylim3696 thank you for the question. I agree with @user-nb6lg2ek9m. The CB3 exam tests the material they supply you with. If you have done the work, you should be ok to sit the exam.

Hi, thanks for this video. So, is there any specific weightage to the game, exercises and the exam respectively? Also, i presume you can pass the exam even if your team is placed last in the game.

Hi @nirbhaybade8617, thank you for watching. Your result only depends on the exam but the game is something you have to complete for you not to be kicked out of the course. I can't really remember whether 5th was the very last possible place in the game but I think you should be able to write the exam and pass it even if your team is last.
