What is the clip you are using to hold the canvas on the wall? Thanks

She's using a wooden H easel. The 'clip' you see is top of the easel.

There is a huge dichotomy in the definition of art. It seems to be either absolutely humongous abstract or traditional. True art is in between. It is not the vociferous abstract or copying photographs. The great masters dealt on emotional and spiritual levels. They had and have a subject that can start the imagination blossoming. Great examples were the 19c. French and Russian Naturalists. The Hague School, the Barbizon, the Glasgow Boys, the American Tonalists. One has to study art history to become adept to painting well.

Thank you for your input! For sure there are many takes on what is art. I believe we are all created to create-we are created in the image of an amazingly creative God, (Genesis 1:27) and that art is an expression of how the artist see the world.

Tru art does not exist as it is subjective. And no, obe does not need to study art history to become a good painter. Many excellent painters and artists have never gone to art school, or studied art. There are many ways to learn.

I am a self taught artist. The difference since I started is unbelievable. All the hard work all the practices, all the hours I put into it paid off despite having not a lot of natural talent, god given talent. I don’t want to be disrespectful but I do believe in self taught 😅When God was giving our talents, we were not treated equally and that is perfectly ok. Some has to work extra hard for it and that’s ok too. But please have some respect for our hard work!
