I just got back on after a, like, 20 year hiatus - but starting on a new account. It is all so much more complicated than I remember it being, tbh. I'm obsessed, though. It's a problem already, hahaha. I forgot how much joy it brought me.

I did the math for Faerie Caverns. The expected value for Faerie Caverns without the cartographication boon is about 1500NP, and with the boon it is about 15000NP (using the current value of the prizes. Expected value is the average value that you walk away with after the cost to play. Caverns is like a lottery that is worth it in theory.

I just started playing Neopets again for the first time in 20years. Its exactly what i remember, and im thoroughly enjoying durdling sround for 30 minutes or so a day on there lol

Hey! I don't have premium. I heard the best battledome challenger to fight is the Giant Spectral Mutant Walein, if your pet is strong enough! I get lots of codestones from him.

ohh yes that's an option as well. Generally, anything in the dome of the deep will be optimal because that has one of the smallest prize pools thus making it more likely to hit the general prizes like codestones!

All the NP guides are pretty rough for new accounts. From what ive seen shops dont sell anything profitable until accounts are 3 to 4 months old.

It's definitely not new account friendly, but I believe those beginner friendly shops like Food and Pharmacy will include options that fall in the rarity you're able to see. You should also be able to see anything sub r89 after day 10 and up to r94 once you hit your 1 month. It still limits you, but it should at least give you some NP to get started with other things like the BD

It’s a necessary gate I think, it stops new accounts from a rapid climb via R99 items that I imagine would make the shops even more dreadful to try restocking from. I remember bots being awful back when I stopped playing, and back then they didn’t have that gate up as far as I recall. I’m returning with a new account since my first one was purged during the first series of inactive account cleanses and although it’s a bit discouraging to not be able to beeline for a Draik egg like young me always wanted I’m using the opportunity to familiarize myself with things like the stock market and new restock system with a target on desired uncommon food items I can buy at 3k and sell at 6k for some small but nice profit.

Went back to Neopets, made a new account after like 10 years I guess, managed to get to be a millionaire in like 2 weeks just cause I got lucky with an item that was worth like 2 million, but course I can only sell items for 999,999 lol. I got thinking that if the people in charge of Neopets got serious, and gave the entire thing a facelift, like remake the majority of it from scratch, from the ground up and modernize it, it could be a massive thing again. Rebuild the entire battledome and it's mechanics, take a page out of Pokemon's book and have it so you start with a baby neopet, and after it hits a certain level you can have it do a quest line, finish it, and your baby neopet evolves into a new older form, say at Lv 25, it's possible, then at level 50 it can again evolve to it's final form, but ithas to do another quest and it ends with a face off with a specific quest locked battledome opponent. Make the game more, 3D, port it over to consoles, yes the game would no longer be "free", no ads, no micro-transactions, just say a one time payment of $15 for the full new and improved modern Neopets. New items to be made, all the old flash stuff fixed and modernized, new games added that feel more like Mario Party, avatar creator, so you see the person your pets see, aka you. There is a million ideas that could be done easily to really revamp neopets.

they fluctuate pretty often so id wait for a bit before buying, or there are other bd items you can look into like Roxtons Trusty Bowie Knife, Lightning in a Bottle, or even Flask of Liquid Fire for way more affordable but much less reliable results
