5 tricks for your boat

There are a number of things you can do to make life on the boat easier. In this video you will see 5 tricks that you can use on a boat. 1. What to do when at anchor and the waves are coming from the side. 2. How to manage creaky mooring lines 3. How to calculate cruising speed when you’re not familiar with the boat; 4. How to prevent the mooring buoy from banging into the boat at night, when the wind drops; 5. How to moor alongside single-handed. The video was shot in Cala dei Sardi, north-eastern Sardinia, where we were the guests of NSS Charter the largest Italian charter company, which made available the boats and the support staff.

As always, my congratulation. You are superlative. Let me understand. In the last tip of your video, you say that Simona can go to secure the bow line leaving the gear on. My question is: is it safe? It is not possible that the boat goes forward against other boats?

The boat can't move forward, a line on the stern stops her, and the rudder wheel is all against the pier. Trust, leave the gear forward with few accelerations and the wheel turned to the pier, and land to secure your bowline.

Sorry to be late in our answer. Yes, we are quite sure. In effect will be enough the 10% rpm less than the maximum, but if you are careful and use the 20% less your engine will be perfectly safe.
