I've been playing with my girlfriend for years now, and she always had a bad time making houses look good, so she kept watching tutorials on how to build complete houses. The moment she tried doing one by herself, she came up with the most amazing house!

My thing is definitely building. Over the years I became a very decent builder and it's great to be able to use my creating energy somewhere. I do find shaping, texturizing and planning in general extremely relaxing. Currently on day 1335 of my survival world and I don't plan on giving up or starting over whatsoever. Keep up!

I decided last year that I will never stop playing Minecraft for as long as it's here, I don't play videogames anyone only Minecraft, I'll never get totally bored of it, been playing since I was a little kid, and I imagine one day I'll be able to play it with my own kids

One of the biggest things that keeps me motivated is just playing with my friends. It's always fun even if I'm playing singleplayer because I can just share that progress with them and it's always great getting their feedback.

Loved the tips. I started playeing minecraft 2 years ago, when I started dating my ex. She introduced me to the game that I avoided for years just for me to find out that I LOVED the game. I got addicted to it in no time, but I felt so bad that... after a while... none of our friends were playing anymore, not even her. So I was alone playing the game. For months it was good, I loved to learn by myself. Learned how to build (basic stuff), redstone (basic stuff), and even created hardcore worlds, which I found more fun to play due to the need of stay in high alert every second of it. Anyway, it was a fun ride, but I think I overplayed the game for a year and a half, so now I feel so tired of it. I love watching videos and livestreams, and I even start new worlds every now and then, but I can never keep going in those worlds, and I still don't know why. But, when I was playing in a server a while back, I played the game like a maniac again, and I LOVED IT. So, I think... I need more friends that play minecraft, just until I find what ticks for me LOL

I really don't know about "keep it simple" advice. It's the opposite for me, honestly. Don't keep your ideas simple, think of more complicated ones. Why not, instead of "Medieval village", build "White medieval castle, built on top of a grey medieval castle, built on top of a dark medieval castle?" or "An ancient grove of druids under orbital bombardment from a spaceship?" or "A village in the ocean, with flying and normal ships insted of houses, with sunked ruined castle poking out of the water?" Something wild like that. Much more fun. YOU DO HAVE TO KEEP IT ON THE SMALLER SIDE, so you have the time to make several builds.
