It can be very frustrating to play an amazing game and suddenly mess up the queen endgame because your opponent found a stalemate or a perpetual check to save his game. In today's video i show you 5 tricks and tactics you can use to avoid draws and even losing queen endgames vs rooks or vs minor pieces.

5 tricks I learned from this video: 1. Ladder checkmate 2. Trapped knights (in the dim) by rooks 3. Reduce the mobility of the opponent's queen and king, then trap them. 4. Get rid of the pins (sometimes by using the zigzag technique) 5. Create a passed pawn that attarcts the opponent's queen to absolute skewer it

I think capturing the knight in first puzzle isn't a blunder I can move Kh6 After queen's check and threatens to checkmate with Ra8 so the queen won't take my b2 rook

4:19 you made a mistake, if we do Qa3+, then Ra6 is forced. Then after that, Qxa6# ends the game there.

You missed missed mate in three on the last puzzle, when the rook position is in... Put both rooks on the same file as they cannot defend checkmate on both squares,so rook chck queen blocks and rook checkmate
