Didn't think I was a wine drinker either until I tried Moscato. Good advice.

Great video! I definitely felt that story about the guy who said wine wasn't for him, but then he tried a sweeter wine and liked it.

I am a wine tour guide and found this video very helpful. Our wineries in central Virginia have a lot of bold drys so it’s sometimes nice to be able to help out some people who are new to tastings.

You very succinctly described my experience with wine up until I got a moscato d'asti, and it broke that whole "I don't like wine" preconception.

simple way to KNOW the sweetnes of a wine is its ABV% Moscato is around 6%abv and is sweet. However a sauvignon blanc or chardoney will be around 12,to 12.5%abv and be VERY dry. Sugars ferment to alcohol Low alcohol equals higher residual sugar, and be sweet.

This is an excellent, informative, and fun to watch video. I am very sorry that you do not get many views on great videos like this. Don't let it make you think that you actually didn't create excellent content. I have a suggestion, if you may be planning on making more videos in the future is try to record it with something that is 1080p or higher resolution, and maybe get a studio lighting that shines at you from behind the camera. You may also ask your friends who know how photography works. Basically everything looks sharper and crisper with a bright light.

@@amekgomo5250if you want something a little drier than the wines in this video, you might try Pinot Grigio. This will be a medium dry white wine with a little more acidity and some tropical fruit flavors.

I know absolutely nothing about wine and your video is really helpful. I've always tasted dry and bitter wine and never care for it. But the sweet taste one is one I like though

look at the alcohol % abv the lower abv the sweeter it will be Around 6%abv(alcohol by volume) is a sweet wine re. Moscato. 12% or higher will be dry re Cabernt sauvignon or chardoney

Moscato is for if you're new to drinking alcohol or if you like coolers (Smirnoff Ice, Breezers, etc.) types of drinks because it tastes like juice.
@BeverageProfessor Жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Perfect entry into drinking wine if you already like other sweet alcohol drinks.

Hmmm? That is a good question. I really do not have the answer. Sorry I can’t help you with your question. I will try to research and see what I find.

I appreciate all the time & information it must have taken to make a video like this. I am going to be 50 this year on my birthday. I was raised in a very strict religious farm family. My father lived to be almost 90. He had never even tasted a sip 9f alcohol of any kind. I however can not say that. I tried alcohol the first time my junior year of college. I tried wine, beer, & liquor. I was never able to find a a wine I liked at all. I found that when it came to the price of beer, I had expensive taste. The only beer I liked at all was Michelob Ultra was the one and only beer for me. But when it came to liquor I found 2 I liked Bacardi (and only because I mixed it in slushy drink at my local gas station.. I would go get a slushy & sip on it all the was back to my dorm & then there was enough room for the Bacardi when I got there. Lol. It made mixing easy I didn't even need a blender. I just stirred the alcohol into the frozen drink with my straw. As far as drink a stray drink with a chaser I enjoyed Jack Daniel's with & without a coke chaser. Shower I am at the age Bacardi & jack Daniel's are no longer the choices for me. I haven't had any form of alcohol except last weekend I tried white Zifendal. I didn't like it. It tasted like something died in my mouth. I came home & decided to do a little research before trying again. I say all that to say your video was full of useful info. But I have 1 suggestion. I couldn't read the names n the wine bottles. So how about listing in order the names of the wines in order in the description box. I would have found it very helpful.

Thank you for your comments. Here are the wines I used in the video, and a few options you could try. The Riesling was Schmitt Sohne. The same company makes another Riesling called “Relax”. The moscato d’asti was Luccio. Might also try Risata, Marco Negri, or Cupcake. The red Moscato was Quady red Electra. The other red was the Luccio Luscious red. You might also look for Stella Rosa Rossi. I hope this helps. Let me know if you find one you like.
