You didn’t ruin your list with an amphibian? But I assumed that was because the one had “frog” in its common name. Did you do something production-wise that was different? I didn’t catch it.

I'd love it if you could talk about Viper Geckos! I only learned about them this past May at an expo - they're like if leopard geckos were the size of mourning geckos, and bred just as readily! They're so cool, and I'd love to see more people learn about them.

I knew 3 out of the 5, just the golden spiny tail and the frog eye were new to me and that’s mostly thanks to you and Clint. Thank you for broadening my knowledge of reptile species and how to care for the ones I have. With help from you, Clint, Elle, Emily, Lori Torrini and Bob Bledsoe, along with my own research and hands-on experience, my reptiles are doing better than ever and will all be getting upgrades as money allows (so slowly and 1 at a time). I appreciate all the time and effort and money that you put into the channel and the animals you feature here and I hope you continue making videos for a long time. Thanks for everything Adam. ☺️💕

I have to be honest, I already knew about a couple of the species on this list, particularly Ackies because I absolutely LOVE monitor lizards but because of my disabilities I wouldn't be able to care for one of the dream monitors (a full expression Black Dragon Asian Water Monitor or a Blue Tree Monitor 🖤💙) as they are just too big so while looking around online for information and pictures of these beautiful creatures I discovered the smaller Ackies. If my health and financial situation ever changed enough I would still love to have at least one of the two bigger dream lizards but Ackies (specifically the red ones) have become my more attainable dream lizard lol!

@AngryChristian1

Here's a few more I'd like to add based on personal experience: Yellow Headed Geckos are similar to keeping chinese cave geckos (room temperature, humidity, mildly arboreal) but they're the same size as mourning geckos. Furthermore, they are semi-arboreal the same way bearded dragons are; they don't have toe pads but they love to climb on things and be off the ground. They're really wonderful lizards when captive bred and they combine the best aspects of chinese cave geckos, bearded dragons and it comes in a mourning gecko sized package. Bynoe's geckos are are type of desert dwelling terrestrial gekkonid (which itself is unusual since the Gekkonidae family is mostly arboreal), but they are also very small, and parthenogenic. In other words, they're like mourning geckos but they live in the desert. They're also becoming increasingly common captive bred; last week I saw plenty at an expo. Peter's Banded Skinks are basically like kenyan sand boas (they spend most of the time submerged in loose substrate and are absolutely fantastic for handling) but with a generalist omnivore diet (mainly insects but also vegetation and meat if offered). Care is tremendously easy and very suitable for beginners, they're very good to handle, even the wild caught individuals, and they look adorable and have really cool colors. The catch is that they're not widely available captive bred, but that is changing soon. Ocellated skinks are a smaller species of skink; they are invasive in both humid and desert climates (famously, they can be found in both Arizona and Florida), and are semi-fossorial and semi-arboreal at the same time, giving lots of different options for making their enclosure. They do well in pairs or even groups, and although they are awful for handling, they are quite charming and easy to take care of. They are also one of the cheapest skinks to acquire due to low demand and relatively easy breeding. Zebra skinks are somewhat similar to ocellated skinks but much better for handling and a little larger. They do well in groups and have somewhat similar care to blue-tongues. They're also available captive bred judging by their presence at expos. Yellow-spotted night lizards are a member of the Xantusiidae family and the Scincomorpha clade, so for all intents and purposes they're basically really weird looking skinks. They aren't great for handling and supposedly have venom, but care is very reasonable since they're hardy and fun-sized, and they look incredibly badass due to a dark coloration and spikes. They used to be widely available but imports were banned, so now they're beginning to become available captive bred again.

Okay, so I am proudly one of the folks that got a Schneider's Skink based on Adam's recommendation. And I am so glad I did! He is totally 100% on point when he says that these skinks want to be handled and want to hang out with you. Didn't know about Golden Spiny Tail. What an interesting critter! I currently have a Madagascar Plated Lizard. It's hard to find any good info on them. The previous 2 owners were keeping her like a Mainland Plated, but she wasn't thriving. They had her on Kijiji for the cost of the enclosure. I got some info from Reptifiles that said their husbandry was more like Indonesian Blue Tongues. Changed up her habitat, and she is thriving. Still can't get her to eat anything but bugs. She was wild caught, and is very skittish. There are a few people trying to breed them, but it seems like there is limited success so far. Would be neat if you featured them in a future video.

A local place owned by a friend - Secret Laboratory Geckos - breeds those along with others. The owner also owns The Reef Shoppe.

I'm sure you probably know about this species but I have a pink tongued skink. I think they are super underrated I don't really see them around here very often. Since he is a scavenger he actually prefers canned bugs and that his veggies be in the form of a mush. He is super docile, loves to climb is gentle when hand feeding. We actually build him obstacle courses out of old boxes and things and he gets real joy from climbing them. Everyone I tell about my lizard Bandit asks me if he is a skinny blue tongue.

I figured that chuckwallas weren't on the list. They were popular at one time, then faded into obscurity

My man, Stan, my Teratoscincus scincus Frog Eye is such a cool dude. He's like a little bulldog and noms like a champ. Love these lizards. They are burrowers so I hope people listen and do their research. Especially substrate. I experimented with sand/soil/bentonite clay mixtures to find the right one. It holds tunnels perfectly, he's got little ant-farm tunnels going on in there lol

Was very surprised to find a Crocodile Gecko at an Expo recently. Didn't get him, as I didn't have an enclosure pre-set up, but man what a neat looking little dude!

Saw a Schnieders skink for sale in my local reptile shop for a really reasonable price but didn't know what it's needs were so decided to leave it until I had done some research, when I went back a week later it had been sold. Next time I see one I'm having it.

I think I saw all of these, (except maybe not the frog eye?) for sale at the Daytona expo a few weeks ago. Though that was the first time I had ever seen spiny tailed geckos in person and for sale at a show. Really wild to see them! I also think we don’t call them skunk geckos because it’s already a Nick name for the white stripe gecko. And while I would love to “stump you” on a reptile you didn’t know about, I’m not sure I could. Enjoyed the video!
