Learned a lot from a small but important function - shutter button.

Wow, a treasure trove of useful information just around the shutter button!

There is yet another way to release the shutter! I have setup a Custom Command under Voice Control to Run a Custom Gesture Action which presses the shutter button for me when I say "snap." This is just one of many things you can use the Voice Control feature to support photography. I can't wait to see all the ways you figure out to use Voice Control in a future video!

Thanks for posting this video. I recently bought this exact same shutter release and was disappointed to find you have to hold the shutter button for the duration of the timer setting, instead of pressing it once. After playing around with the volume button settings you mentioned, I found pressing the small button once activates the timer.

Great video. Another method is if you have an Apple Watch, you can use the Camera App on the watch to click the shutter.

I was hoping you might have as suggestion as to what to do when neither the screen button or volume buttons aren't anywhere near your trigger finger. You have a very controlled situation there, realistically people hand hold their phones most of the time and are trying to capture an active moment. Maybe just me, and I suspect as I shoot video often (in the correct landscape aspect) it some how end up around half the time unable to take the pic, often my finger nail keeps my finger just away from the screen trigger ... etc etc ... but anyway, I think the remote rigger seems to be a good solution. Thanks.

Had I watched a couple more of these iPhone Photography School videos. I believe I would have bought the Pro model of the 12. You totally 💯 justify a-pro model. (Still not a fan of the telephoto lens) but, that wide lens looks sweet in your knowledge of that camera and it’s settings! I recommend a watch, That extra shutter release is always with you.

Though you technically covered Blue tooth shutter release, Apple Watch also has a camera app which will work the shutter as well.

There is a new feature on Apple Watch were you can program the shutter button to activate just by moving your finger. The watch detects that movement and snaps the photo. No touching your watch needed. Its under the accessibility section in the settings.
