This weekend, several of us headed up into the Smokies for three days of camping and adventure.
Departing on Saturday morning from Chattanooga, Tennessee, we headed through Knoxville and then on into North Carolina and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Inside the Pisgah National Forest, we settled on a little spot along the creek to stay the night. A short drive up the mountain took us to see Max Patch Bald, a 4600 foot tall mountain with beautiful 360-degree views.
Sunday morning, we headed back West and stopped for lunch at Big Creek and then crossed over into Tennessee. We set up camp at Cades Cove and stayed the night.
On Monday, we packed up and cruised the 11-mile loop road at Cades Cove before departing and travelling up through Townsend and Maryville on our way back to Chattanooga.
