Where I live at, you don't need a fishing license, as long as you arent using a rod and reel. A lot of people will us a 20 ounce pop bottle and wrap the line in the dip between the cap and bottle. Like a mini spool. The can cast it really far by holding on to the body and whipping it overhand. It will spool right off. Then they just wrap it up to reel it in.

nice idk if the curly tail would work as good here because its such a big lake and just finding the fish is a pain in the ass. what makes it worse is from the shore you can only access so much.

I watch you catch a perch and a crappie with literally almost no gear at all and cheap lures. Then I go out to fish with a kayak, three poles, a bag full of soft plastics, jigs, crank baits, etc for hours at a time and don't even get a single hit. Lol you're either very skilled or lucky as hell. Either way good for you man!
