Yes! Great video!! I've been using Chat GPT for spanish, and prompting it to role play with me. I've also been TALKING to it with a microphone, and getting it to SPEAK back to me! (I'm building video game prototypes that allow this functionality). It's been wildly helpful. Of course, I still prefer learning with a real person - that can never be replaced :)

Are you using the free version or the Pro Version ($20 USD/mth)? If there are enough good features in the Pro version, I'd consider subscribing. It's a great learning tool!

@@joanblench4064 I do use the pro version, but I also write software and make use of the chat gpt API to allow me to build my own tools around it. I've added features like speech recognition, 3d characters, voice synthesis so you can hear a response in addition to reading it. :)

Omg! This is awesome. I asked it for examples of the word estaba and it gave me 10 sentences and also gave the definition and noted that it was the imperfect tense of the verb estar 😮

Excellent video! I love how enthusiastic you were about ChatGPT's capabilities. It's a AI language model, so helping people with language learning/studying is definitely one of its strong suits. I think it can understand most of the major/most-spoken languages! Thank you for your tips and your demonstrations. I've only just started using it to help me learn a language, but it blew me away when it explained a tricky (but essential) grammar rule. Like you said it is so straight-forward!

I've used it to give me sentences to translate into Spanish and I believe they've been going up in difficulty. I love it. Obviously you can ask for explanations in-between. It also started talking to me in Spanish only as if realising my level is high enough to get it. Mind-blowing really.

It's been an amazing tool for explaining words or sentences that have complex grammar behind it. Also for making practice conversation or even a study outline! But understand that it sometimes will tell you the wrong things with complete confidence (generally not with grammar but with complex facts) It is inherent in all LLM generative AI's

Great video; cute girl. Here are a couple other ways to get help from ChatGTP. Go ahead and ask it variations on these two examples: 1) How should "leccion" be pronounced? As "less-ee-own" or "leks-ee-own"? 2) Please write a 200 word story in beginner spanish. Even easier to read: Please write me a 100 word verbal interaction in beginner spanish.

Nonsense: Please correct: Si ayer era lunes, mañana es jueves. La oración "Si ayer era lunes, mañana es jueves" está correctamente escrita en español. La traducción en inglés sería: "If yesterday was Monday, tomorrow is Thursday."

Wow, I asked it why "de ahí que" is usually proceeded with the subjunctive mood and gave an explanation that didn't require a degree in linguistics to understand. I also asked for an explanation of the concept of "concesiones federales" in the context of meeting federal requirements of a company and again, it explained it in a way that was understandable and didn't require any verbose explanation. With that said, this AI fails at other simple things like distinguishing the difference between a reflexive verb and a pronominal verb. Unfortunately, this software can and will lead you astray.

This would apply for any advanced student. Can you speak faster so it's a total blurr no one seems to get from beginner to beyond. Always intermediate to advanced. Who is your audience and who is not???
