Hopefully I got this correct: 1. Notice negative thoughts. If it isn't helpful, let it go. 2. Stop fighting to make yourself miserable. Decide what those thoughts mean to you. 3. Find evidence to support positive thoughts instead of negative ones. 4. Use the stop method when you notice yourself thinking negative thoughts. Think, "Stop, I'm not going there." 5. Learn to manage your mind and be in control by building self-trust. ( Thank you Julia this is my new favorite KZfaq channel!)

@@johnromeo5145 Practical steps are needed to reprogramme the subconscious mind. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety-stress. For a relaxed life sit on a chair, back erect, hands on lap with palms upwards, eyes closed, be still and observe your natural incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10 minutes or more. Slowly negative thoughts will reduce and relax the mind. During your daily activity keep observing your breath consciously. Do the above meditation daily to feel relaxed. Positive affirmations for 5-10 minutes before sleep are also very effective to reduce negative thoughts. Best wishes. Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

What sticks with me the most is you can fight for good thoughts, don't try to support negative thought with evidence, look for evidence to support positive thoughts. It's crazy but I've been afraid to thing good things about myself, like I would look foolish for thinking anything positive about myself.

One of the easiest first steps to crushing negative thoughts is to start asking yourself "does this thought serve me?" Even if you're worrying about something that's very real and actually happening, do those worrying thoughts serve you? If they don't, then they're pointless.

@@GB-pw9it If the thoughts are real life worries then I would set some time aside to figure out what I can do about them, even if that's just change my mindset, and once you've made the best plan you can, worrying thoughts are useless. So yeah strategise for sure but that can be done without worry, and especially at the point you've made the best plan you can to deal with that worry, any overthinking serves no purpose. It can feel wrong to let go of the worries but when they don't serve you at all, letting them go is all you can do.

I've talked to people lately and told them "there is nothing wrong with you. You should be proud of who you are" when I noticed they were struggling with liking themselves. It's amazing to see the reaction like they are fighting to find something wrong with themselves and a kind word changes that instantly. I use your technique in my brain to remind myself the same. Thank you.

I'm normally very optimistic. In fact, my girlfriends call me Pollyana (the over 50-somethings will know what this means) A friend of 35 years hurt me terribly at Christmas. I cried nearly the entire month of January. She apologized, and acts like nothing happened, but for the past 4 months I feel I have become a cynic towards this friend, anything she says or does. This video is such a gift to me right now, because I feel like 4 months is long enough to carry around this heavy weight. Thank you.

DETECTING PATTERNS is KEY for those of us in transition from past harming patterns. WE need to key into the specific phrases that continue to give us an un-easy gut reaction. TIP: 1. Make an inventory of these statements. 2. Make it mandatory to combat this with WORDS TO YOURSELF that are accurate and kind. 3. Create and recite an affirmation each morning, specific to you, detailing you deserve happiness. BEST PRACTICES and WISHES to us ALL!

If possible pls record your videos with subtitles on so that people of other languages not loose out on every single details. Also if you can prepare some videos for single mothers, how they can leverage their singleness at work instead of making it their weakness. That will be very helpful!

Gramma Esther here. About self loathing? I'd say yes, it can be a motivator in the moment. My take is that in the long term, the harm it does to one's sense of adequacy and value exacts too high a price to pay for the motivational gains it provides. Finding better sources for personal motivation can be difficult; for me it's been well worth the quest.

I witnessed domestic violence and an unhealthy family dynamic for most of my childhood. I'm an adult now who successfully put myself through college twice and now have a career that looks promising. Sometimes, I feel like my body is in fight or flight mode, as if something bad is just around the corner. When I arrive at work and park my car, I can feel my heart beating fast and throughout the day it's the same feeling. I'm well liked by my colleagues and the workplace is a friendly environment. Why does this happen to me? And how can I help myself? I'm going to put this video into practice today and see how I am. Thanks!

Deep belly breathing works 100% for this. It is just leftover energy in your body from some other emotional trigger in your past. Don’t fight it just let it come. Just acknowledge it. Like OK I see you yes I feel you and just breathe it out. Deep belly breathing is a biological process that turns off your fight or flight mode that you are feeling. It really works. And you’ll get better at doing it, until you don’t need it anymore.......also, Cold showers or and your warm shower with cold water. You will get used to it and it will feel refreshing and it shuts off that fight or flight response also and you sleep so much better. You get into the shower breathe in through your nose and when you exhale exhale slowly and calmly. You will get better at it takes a little getting used to. Start with 10 seconds than 30 seconds up to 60 seconds. Breathing is by far the best though, meditation. That is itAnxiety you are feeling which is very very closely related to excitement as far as the emotional and biological feelings you are feeling in your body. To help reframe what your brain thinks you could always say oh I’m very excited today to be at work and see all my friends I really enjoy my job and I’m very excited to be here. It sounds silly but your reframing from the doom and gloom around the corner. Good luck!

The example you use for friends.. I'm having that at the mo. I'll get a text on week days about meeting up etc. But as soon as they one in the pub. No reply to text or call and don't know where they are, bit flaky.. When it comes to evenings and the weekend I don't here from them, then I found from a friend the next day they went out on the night. I've tried to ignore this but it's happened a few times now.. It feels like they are going for the better offerer and not thinking about me.. I challenged them by text about it.yesterday morning as had enough, especially living by myself and liking company. Managed to see the one friend on the evening last night and the other who said they'll text when they know they are coming into town didn't.. And I actually seen her when she came to the pub where I'd met the one friend.. She didn't let me know about, it's like didn't she listen to what I said and then the same day doesn't message.. Makes me feel kinda used especially when I'd stuck by her and the other mate through Lockdown and then I'm forgot on the evenings and weekends especially.. What do i do? I know I'm a good guy and person that cares about others and likes to chat and have fun..

When YOU believe in negative thoughts then YOU leave YOU feeling terrible. What you believe in believes in you. Your nature must change so that your mind can be renewed. This will set you free. You will be in the world but not connected to it whatsoever. Immovable.

Hi Julia! How to get over a missed opportunity? I've been trying to get over a missed opportunity for the past 8 years... it's difficult to even imagine that something that awesome will ever come again, or that it's even possible that something else as awesome as it even exists.
