Part of the reason he hasn't gotten a ton of NBA accolades is because he plays next to a guy (Tatum) the Celtics tabbed as the franchise. If Brown was the true #1 on a team, it's not unthinkable that he'd average 30+ and make more all-NBA teams. Now... should he be the highest paid player in the league? No, of course not. But... that will all be relative as more players sign super-max deals.

Only thing changed here is the cap because the league makes more money. All supermax eligible players get 35% of the teams cap. This is the same contract all supermax players get

This dude was second team all nba and averaged over 26 points, while being in 5 conference finals+ in 6 season in the league Like he shows you he can produce in the regular season, he showed you he can ball out in the playoffs. Yes he has some flaws, but those are better flaws then most of the other players. And yes I would say he is the best two way guard in the conference. @@QueenConsiousdon't y'all understand how contracts given?! Tatum is gonna get more, when given a max it is a % of the salary cap. But the cap increases and with these contracts the % of that goes lower. All of contracts are a % of how much a team gets from the revenue total of the NBA.

I think he has a legit case to be the best player on his team too. If you think about it, there are not too many holes in his game besides the turnovers and the handles. Tatum is great but the gap isn't too wide between them. Brown already has the speed and is normally pretty physical so that has to help him somewhat.

1. This contract is based on salary cap and TEAM REVENUE. In other words, the teams are making A LOT of money. 2. Jaylen Brown is 26. He just finished a season in which he averaged 26 pts. He is a good 3 pt shooter, good defender, can hit his ft's, can rebound, and very athletic, 3. 3. He is brings zero off the court issues. He is great for the city of Boston, the country, and internationally. 4. At 26 he has been to the playoffs in each of his 7 yrs in the league, has made it to the ECF 4x times and once to the finals. THIS IS A PLAYER THAT HAS NOT REACHED HIS PRIME. Imagine between 28-30. He will be an all star every year and might even reach 1st team all nba. How many other players have his resume? not that many. Lastly, keep in mind that making it to the 2nd all nba team means that you are in the second BEST lineup in a league with 30 teams that makes up a total of 150 starting lineups. That translates to him being a top 10 player in the NBA.

@@kingkyrie5140 Thank you, now if he was named into the 2nd all nba team which is the 2nd best starting 5, wouldnt that make him a top 10? Based on players getting selected to those all NBA teams, Tatum is top 5 and Brown top 10 (for the 2022-23 season)
