I saw him in 2001 at Benedict college in SC. He was an opening act for some some southern artist at the time, and he wasn't mainstream at all. Seemed like he blew up shortly after that. It was incredible to see, and still is till this day

He said he has never received been to an award show and people were there to celebrate his achievement and success, cause other awards people think like they should've won instead of him.
