@@LonnieSeverson going way back to the 70s, most of the big metal acts had success in Japan, and many of them released some of their best live recordings from Japanese shows....Judas Priest's Unleashed in the East is a good example, Cheap Trick Live At Budokan, Iron Maiden's "Maiden Japan"....the list goes on and on...Japanese have long loved metal and hard rock, and they responded very well at shows as these recordings prove. Koreans mostly hate Metal, so I'm kind of surprised she is Korean, really. I lived in Korea for nearly 10 years and to my knowledge no metal acts ever played there during that time. I did go to a couple of underground metal shows but despite the talented musicians the crowds were very small, like under 100 people usually. It just isn't a thing in Korea. How do you know the Korean government is putting money into K-Pop? Got a source on that? In fact, I think that is incorrect...but if it is correct, it is quite sad because of what those performers go through is brutal, and I can't believe the population would support putting tax dollars into something like a system of organized human slavery and exploitation, and also just turning women into objects and the worst kind of sex objects really.. Most Koreans don't even like K-Pop, and there are almost never live shows in the country itself due to lack of interest...a few in Seoul, like on New Years Eve, but those aren't even real concerts. when AOA (or whoever) goes on tour, they go on tour in other Asian countries for the most part, not Korea. I just don't think this is something the government would see as a valuable way to spend money.
