Ronaldo Fenomeno talked about Mbappé and... just said the same thing ;-) Sure R9 technical skills were a little bit higher but the best is yet to come for KM7... He improves every month.

Their foot work is very similar. Very rapid steps and change of support foot, combined with explosive pace wich is visually very striking and almost beast like. The difference between them is R9 was *the* number 9. He revolutionized the n°9 role back in the days, but he is in his nature a complete n°9. Whereas Mbappe is more of a winger or a 2nd striker. Mbappe cannot (and does not like to) be the lone striker in front line like R9 (who played most of the time as the 1st striker, supported with a number10). Mbappe hates physical contact with defenders and is most of the time dominated in duels in that position. But, he's got tons of assists and high % of chances created for his teams by playing on the wings or as a 2nd striker. A lot more than R9. For me this difference is due to the fact that football has evolved since R9. The defensive tactics and the overall quality of the defenders playing at the highest level has increased significantly since the late 90s/early2000s. If R9 played in this era, I would imagine that he would have to adapt and play on the wings as well. Or at least, that's where a sensible coach would put him.

Ikr, it is extremely dissapointing to see idiots undermine his achievements and boil it all down to his pace. It is impossible to be *just* fast and also score 20+ goals EACH season, and be arguably the star of a world cup winning team as a teen. In my personal experience, I think a lot of it has to do with race. Players like Pele, Mbappe always are brought down for no reason by what I assume are 12 year olds on the internet
