Here's a couple other references. Byron's name likely comes from a man named "Lord Byron" in the actual Frankenstein novel. Lord Byron also happens to be an alchemist. The green and purple color variant for Edgar's Mecha Skin is a reference to the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. Toon Spike's art style is meant to look like the art style from the Powerpuff Girls.
