The best advice anyone can ever give to anyone going is be nice and polite to all the Cast Members. The abuse thats always been there had only gotten worse since WDW reopen. If you don’t like the way things are now, then don’t go. Be nice to us, and you never know what extra magic may come your way.

Ok seriously I don't know what I would have done without AJ and the team at DFB! I was able to crush our Disney vacation and it was all because of these guides! The annual pass holders in my group made fun of me because I must have said no I'm doing it this way because AJ suggests...about a million times! They laughed that I was acting like AJ was a personal acquaintance but by the end of the day in Magic Kingdom they were all praising me and AJ lol! Thank god for the DFB team!!!

While doing a split stay we asked the first hotel if we could stay for an extra 2 hours so our kids could nap while we waited for our other room to be ready and they happily obliged even though we didn't think it was a chance so it never hurts to ask it probably depends on how busy they are but they were pretty busy when we were there

Thanks for the mention of the First Pitch at Casey's Corner, it brought back great memories. I had seen this several times over the years and it was always fun to see happen. One year my wife and I arrived at MK and had skipped breakfast to get there quicker. Eventually we had to eat and, being big fans of hot dogs, we decided it was Casey's for "breakfast". We got there and they weren't open yet and there was not one waiting. We decided we would wait and a few minutes later someone came out and asked us if we would like to help open the store. Of course we agreed. Just before open the manager came out and prepped us on what we would be doing and we had a great time throwing that "first pitch". I have been going to MK since the first year it was opened and this is actually one of my top 10 memories. Did I mention I was in my 40's when this happened? As you said, it's not just the kids that get to throw the pitch.

One other reason the wait times may be inaccurate it to help control traffic flow of the park. They may increase the wait times of one area to move the crowds to another.

Thank you for making videos. Honestly, it has given me a real perspective on why I don't think I'll go to any Disney park with high expectations again. :( I feel like they have "gamed" it so much that a mere mortal (Me!) will never be able to just stand in line, chat with friends, enjoy the ride and then pick the next one. The price of a ticket is almost cost prohibitive to most people who really need a little Disney Magic in their lives. Adding on special fees to get in line.... not so good IMHO. Longing for the days of buy a pass and enjoy your day(s) at the parks. We'll see if the opportunity arises if I feel differently... but for now. No plans. :9(

So I did this in December, when me, my boyfriend and his son went to Disney...we had purchased the Disney genie plus for the day at animal kingdom and we decided to utilize the rider swap for Everest, he was the second rider and they put it on his magic band as a lightning lane pass...I will say though, as a word of caution, if you have a pass for later that day (we had a lightning lane reservation for Navi river journey) it will cancel that pass for later, however the cast members were very nice at Navi's and helped us get on through the lightning lane

If someone chooses a ride share option like Lyft from their Disney hotel, where will it drop them off at the park? For example, MK. Will it go to TCC or main front entrance? I ask this bc I’m wondering if that Disney Hotel gower will be able to still utilize the early magic house if they use a Minnie Lyft.

“It’s just like how fastpass worked with rider swap. You both have to have a fast pass in order to rider swap and use the fastpass lane.” When did they start this? We brought our two year old in 2015, and they gave us one fastpass. The idea was that one of us would wait in standby, then when we were done with riding, the other person could jump in the fastpass line since theoretically, they would have waited in the standby away. Once upon a time, you could ride then swap right in front of the literal ride. Like, you waited at the exit, and swapped riders there. No additional line waiting. But I guess once enough people started doing this, maybe it got too problematic.
@ShalmendoGlineux
@ShalmendoGlineux 2 жыл бұрын
I think you misunderstand. You approached the ride without a Fastpass, and asked for rider swap in the standby queue. To actually achieve the goal of rider swap, they gave you a fastpass to give to the waiting party so they could use the fastpass line to skip to the front and ride. What AJ was saying, is that if you use a Fastpass to skip the main queue, but ALSO want to rider swap, both of the groups must have a fastpass. This is to prevent someone from getting one fastpass for themselves, then using 'rider swap' to fastpass their friends through without making real fastpass reservations through the official system. This would badly throw off Fastpass counts and management, so they plugged that exploit.
@katyannaharris6131
@katyannaharris6131 Жыл бұрын
If you already all have genie plus, using rider swap seems a bit superfluous. It may be worth explaining that the kiddo(s) who can ride can go twice (Once with each parent).

All they care about is money, so if they can make everyone wear masks like they have been doing to keep the virus down, the last resort thing they would do is close so I think you’ll be good :)
@ShalmendoGlineux
@ShalmendoGlineux 2 жыл бұрын
If you REALLY want to do something about possibly contracting COVID (any variant) Make sure you wear a NIOSH compliant, N95 compliant, respirator mask WITHOUT VALVES. The ones made by Castlegrade are pretty good (I use these myself and I like them very much). You need something that has a NIOSH filter for particle filtration, and the N95 standard (isn't a filter standard, surprisingly) will make sure it seals around your mouth and nose properly to avoid leaks and air bypassing the filter. Good masks will have replaceable filters that cost less per filter then throwaway surgical masks. Usually the filters last 2 days (at least with Castlegrade they do) and must be discarded for safety afterwards.

You never know, especially with the explosive growth of cases in Florida. The one thing that might help is the new variant is 'weak'. So the chances of everything locking down should be lower.
@gooel
@gooel 2 жыл бұрын
Accept that you are probably going to get Omicron if you go. Tons of coughing around you, and most people aren't wearing masks. Disney also refuses to refund tickets for people with positive COVID tests, and will happily let them into the parks. Considering how this is a once-in-a-decade (or lifetime) trip for many people, it's a huge outbreak hotspot.

Love the DFB team! But, I’m not sure when you all are going to animal kingdom, but as a regular Disney attendee myself & AP holder, I’ve rarely seen Everest at Animal Kingdom with a less then 30 min wait. In fact most times I’ve gone, it’s easily a 45-60 min wait. In my experience most my visits. Not all of them. And I go during low seasonal times. But I would agree single rider line will be the best bet if you want a much shorter wait.

Question about rider swap with a genie+ pass (lightening lane): after the first rider goes through lightening lane and completes the ride, does the 2nd rider get to skip the lightening lane and go to the front somehow? It's sad people were upset about rider swap feeling people take advantage of it calling it "parent skip the line" swap, what they don't understand is that person is going to be waiting twice first for the other parent to ride then on the lightening lane.

@@charlotteaegerross7859 agreed! I like how they do it at universal. You both wait in line together and parent swap at the front of the line. When the first parent gets off, the other parents hop right on. This was Disney does it, parents swap is pointless if you’re already using the lightening lane. That’s what I don’t get. Even in this video, she says “parent swap still works with the lightening lane”

Question: for people who hop on at the end of the night to a MK attraction, don’t you need to ride the boat or monorail back to the TTC? How does that work?

@@itr0863 Me and my partner are planning on driving ourselves and are staying at Port Orleans French Quarter, so wouldn’t we still have to park at the TTC? I didn’t know there was a way to drive directly to MK.

You do have to go to TTC to park your car and then take monorail or boat to MK!

Though we live in the northeast, my family and I have been to WDW well over 50 times and I still find your site and videos to be extremely valuable! There are sooo many changes since not having been there in past 3 years. Thank you for these updates!!!

My family of five is planning a trip to Disney World the last week of July. What kind of crowd can we expect? Is this a really busy time?

Yes it is. End of summer vacation, a lot of people getting their trips in before school starts back etc. Crowds will probably be big. And it will be miserably hot.

All right I'm going to be totally honest here I used to love riding roller coasters all the time when I was a kid, but unfortunately I have been banned from riding roller coasters due to my disability progression getting worse see I was born with hydrocephalus and LMC as well as multiple sclerosis and I have a shunt in the right side of my neck that's Teflon my first two shunts were plastic I wasn't even supposed to get the Teflon shot until I was 16 years old but when my shunt broke at 7 years old when I had the second plastic one they went ahead and went with a Teflon one anyway which cause if you problems like sticking out of my neck and making it extremely obvious until of course I got older. But that being said even though Teflon is flexible, my doctor had instructed me that I can no longer ride roller coasters or go on anything with extreme heights to the point where you could fall off so basically she told me to stick with ground and River rides are okay as long as I got someone next to me that can help me control my balance cuz the waves can be pretty rapid if you know what I mean. not being said I did really used to enjoy roller coasters so it does disappoint me that I can't go on roller coasters anymore but on the other hand I see why it's no longer a good idea and I'm actually okay with it for a while I wasn't all right with it but acceptance is just a path that needed to be taken and even though my tread down the acceptance path was slow, my rational mind helped me get through the acceptance path much faster and helped me understand why it had to be that way so as much as I would love to, I have fully accepted that I no longer can go on high rides or roller coasters and I'm okay with that it's not an easy thing to accept but I'm okay with that :-)
