Hey! You do you! You’re happy and providing a great life for your family. Good on you! Health insurance in the US is forcing me personally to have to work until Medicare kicks in, but we’re saving money now so I can take a different job at 55 (making less) that doesn’t stress me out and take a toll on my body physically. Everyone’s journey is different. Keep doing what you do Andy!

Thank you so much Tracy! I'm happy and this situation is great for my family's future together. I have to keep moving toward that. The health insurance situation is rough! Have you looked at options on HealthCare.Gov -- there was were decently affordable options for us, but this all depends on your situation of course.

Enjoy your content and agree 100%. We are 40 with three young kids and are fortunately in a similar situation where we have been in hyper accumulation mode the last 5 years or so. Still have a mortgage for the next 5 years but plan to slow down our savings significantly soon and enjoy more of the pie while we can. Keep the good content coming and take care!

Absolutely a fantastic video. Most people just talk about how to save/invest/build wealth- i'm glad you talk about the whole purpose of FIRE... to retire early so you can enjoy life. Congrats on everything you have accomplished so far!! Enjoy all your hard work and enjoy the next stage of your journey!

Thank you! The numbers of FIRE can be sexy, but I LOVE the enjoyment side. And it can happen a lot sooner than "traditional FIRE" for sure.

No one stays the same for 50 years. People are changing, goals are changing, priorities and all that stuff and I guess it´s OK. Is right to live your life, how you want to, not by the others. Others got their own priorities and goals, their way. Find your own way on your journey, that´s the key.

Goals change. Perspectives change. Life activities change. You can't take it when you go. I agree 1000% to live your life to the fullest and fully enjoy one another. What's the point in constantly building if you cannot enjoy it?!

Curious on your thoughts about leaving a legacy to your kids which means dying with a lot of money but helping secure your kids future. My dad who is 78 has a goal of leaving my sister and I 1mm each and today it would exceed that. I don’t need it but my dumb sister will need every penny and will keep her comfortable in retirement. I’m concerned about how the tax and spend approach in this odd administration will impact my only child’s future and I’d want to leave him a very nice Easter egg of 1mm like my parents will do for me but in a trust with boundaries so he still will need to work and not spend it all Charlie Sheen style. Your thoughts?
@MarriageKidsandMoney
@MarriageKidsandMoney 2 жыл бұрын
Your plan for a Trust is a smart one in my opinion based on your goals. Although we're going to do our best to "Die With Zero", we have an estate plan to help our kids if we die earlier than expected. A big part of our "enjoyment" will be making time to take care of our health so we can live a long time too. That's not always in our hands, but as much as we can control, we will.

@@MarriageKidsandMoney Model Y is just as much SUV as Mach E. If subjective looks matter more than safety, range, charging network, tech advantage, battery track record/longevity, self-driving tech... then Mach E is a good choice ;)
