Can you elaborate on how to select the lens/collimator for use with the FAP800 for engraving and cutting? I searched ebay but could only find the cheap lens. Can you give the part numbers you ended up with?

I want to learn more about the 3d printer and the driver and how you cool the laser how much power did you output I have a lot of experience with 3d printers and laser and now I am between buying 2 nichia nubm31 diodes or a FAP800 70w to make SLM 3d printer like you did and try to make metal cutting laser with oxygen assist

Laser technical? I mean it sounds fun but I would rather build a Command and Conquer NOD Obelisk of Light like tower on my property. That way I can detect and incinerate any pigeon approaching my truck to poop on it. Also it would make mowing the lawn easy if I can get it to do a very shallow angle of attack.

do you think a microwave transformer re wired to bring down the voltage connected to a full bridge rectifier like 90A and voltage regulated by a variac would work to power the laser in general and a couple of 120A mosfets to turn in on and off as a cheap solution?
