A great idea, but there there may be a reason why they can't or shouldn't do that. I will say that I really like the Hilton right across the street from Disney Springs!

The Hilton LBV was terrific!! Pool and all! I’d go back every time, but I’m giving a moderate resort a try.

It should be noted that strollers are checked free at the gate on several airlines. So it's not terribly inconvenient to bring your own.

I love getting kids meals. Cheaper food plus I keep the applesauce packs as snacks for the kids when you need a quick snack.

When at Disney I always look for a good neighbor hotel with FREE breakfast. That cuts out one whole meal you have to think about and if you eat later in the day like me it saves you money on lunch food as well.

Another good flight tip is to fly out of a more major airport. For instance, living in Indianapolis it’s a lot cheaper to fly out of Chicago Midway to Orlando if you are willing to drive. I’ve heard the same about several other places around the country as well.

If you want to be a wild foodie for a day and not go broke, plan your trip for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. It’s honestly the best value some really unique and diverse food dishes. And if you are ok splitting something with someone, you can literally try something from every country. The alcohol isn’t badly priced at the festival either.

I love tips and tricks like this. For a whole lot of families that have always wanted to go but are finding themselves being priced out as quickly as they can manage to save up - it's awesome to know that there are ways to shave off some of the cost here and there - and bring it within reach for a whole lot that are stretching their budget to go! I've done Disney World cheap... I've done Disney World lavish. I've done it as a Solo, as a Couple, as a Family (four kids!), as Families (other family had six kids - three teens, three preteens), and as a pair of Couples. There are SO many ways to Do Disney... and I appreciate DFB for all the help. Of course no one is going to do all of them... but I've found little tips, tricks, and treats that I sought out that I might not have known about were it not for DFB. So... thank you!

One "Mother & Child" tip was an agreement with a child that they would save-up for a Disney Trip... and let family know that if they'd like to help out... any Christmas and Birthday gifts that happened to be Disney Gift Cards would be welcome. For a LOT of us, that made shopping REALLY simple - since we just ordered Disney gift cards for them both! Easier on us... and, ultimately, Mother and Daughter had half of their Disney Trip covered by gift cards... and that made it affordable. Otherwise... it might have taken another whole year to save up!

For car renters - stay away from toll add-ons! Get a toll pass before you go.

The standard plan is still a great plan for families with either: kids who love character meals or growing kids that always seem to be hungry. The cost for the cheapest of the character meals for one kid is 27 for the cheapest breakfast. The dining plan costs 29 dollars a day for kids. So you’re basically getting the character meal, plus daily QS and snack credit for the day for the same price as one character meal out of pocket. For larger families, it definitely can make sense and save a bundle. Losing the second snack credit relative to the previous plan for a big family is probably worth it because it was a lot spending all those snack credits before. Standard plan before for a family of 4: 8 snacks, 4 QS, and 4 table service. Now it’s 4, 4 and 4 along with a lower price for kiddos. We’ve always still packed some outside snacks and all of our water, so the amount of food seems more manageable now.

Re: Grocery store fuel rewards… Kroger often offers 4x fuel points for the purchase of gift cards! So I’ll often add a Disney gift card to my grocery order , and end up with more fuel points!! And also I collect up the Disney cards for my trip! 😂

This is not how bounce backs work anymore. You have until seven days after your trip to call. I can’t believe I know something about Disney more than DFB at this point. I’m way down the Disney adult rabbit hole. 😅

Fun fact: it's actually cheaper to BUY a stroller from Target or Amazon and have it delivered to your hotel and then leave it there than to go through the hassle and expense of renting one depending on how long you will be there.

I stay off sight at Comfort inn. It gives you a lot for a low price especially if you are a choice member. There a full breakfest and microwave and refrig. in the room so you can buy your own food. There is free shuttle to the parks but going to Disney isn't the greatest. They say they are working on it. I don't eat in the parks except maybe a snack and I bring my own food. I don't buy suveniors . I don't need them and I got the 2 shirts I wanted on line. And there are cheap shops near the hotel. I don't get Genie Plus. I know it is good for some things but not having it does save you money. If you do need to get your own way to the parks and don't have a car then uber or Lyft is cheaper then a cab. I come from MD and get a cheap airfare that also lets you bring a carry on bag for free. Some people do drive the 18-20 hours which is cheaper. There is a public bus to and from the airport. On the way back when my trip was over I took the bus. Yea it was 2 hours and I took 3 buses but it was only $4.

If you go at the off season, generally from late august through to beginning of october, often you will find specials that include both rooms and entrance tickets.

If you stay offsite like my family does, we use Undercover Tourist for our park tickets! Universal as well. For our trip in April, we paid child prices for adult tickets, saving us over $300 for our family of 8!

Typically they prefer for you to pick it up in the lobby. For the more spread out resorts it can be hard for your driver to find your room & we tend to recommend not giving out your room number

Yes they will take the photo with theirs and as long as you ask they will always take a photo with your phone or camera as well

$100 in Disney money is almost like $10. Everything is so darn expensive that anything Disney is almost pricing out the middle class. If you're a family that doesn't have small kids, the Disney Cruise line seems to be the more financially beneficial option

There are DOZENS more ways to save at Disney, First, stay at a hotel at Hotel Blvd at Lake Buena Vista near DIsney SPrings.. There you can find rooms under $160 a night including "free" breakfast. These hotels generally have buses to Disney parks as well. AND - if you walk the opposite direction on the BLVD(Away from Disney Springs), you get to an area that has all the well known Chain restaurants which are far less expensive than Disney as well. Now - add another Florida custom EARLY BIRD SPECIALS. If you eat around 4PM at many of them they have full meals for less than the price of a snack at Disney. So instead of eating three meals - eat a snack at lunch - and add another late one if you need it. These "Good Neighbor" hotels often have some of the perks of Disney Hotels and generally have larger rooms that Disney hotels too. IF you do rent a car - or came in a car - the further you stay Disney, the cheaper the room rates. A ten minute ride might save you half the room rate - AND allow you to go to Universal as well as Disney If there are a bunch of you in a car - remember that if the DRIVER gets a Full Annual pass - parking is free. If you go more than once a year - this pays for itself. AN Annual pass gives you lots of other discounts too. .

Be careful with those Disney Neighbor Hotels . The cost might start out cheaper , but they can nickel and dime you as well. Might charge you daily for parking , etc And they may not give you that Disney Resort type service.. And those buses !!!!! Get ready to be at the back of Disney Springs lol

“Park” days are the reason to go to Disney. Not a hack, not a thing. If you’re pretending you’re saving money by flying to Disney but then…not going to a park..well..that’s not a real thing. It’s expensive but either save more or don’t go.
