Another fact about Lilly White and correction for one of them Lilly White was originally planned to be PCB's stage 4 boss, but Zun scraped this idea. He actually even composed her boss theme named "Flower of Past Days ~ Fairy of Flower" (過去の花 ～ Fairy of Flower) (so the fact about her having no theme is false), before it was scrapped. Zun is a guy who doesn't like when his hard work is wasted, so he instead released this unused PCB track in the Ghostly Field Club music album (track number 8).

Okina's realms as a god also cover disability. She can choose to represent herself as such or not. I'm pretty sure that's how Okina 'works' in that regard.

That's actually most likely not ZUN's choice. According to his afterword in Wild and Horned Hermit, he writes the story itself but sends all dialogues and guidelines in text format, and leaves the mangaka free to portray the story however they think it's fit. So that wheelchair was most likely Mizutaki's idea, not ZUN's. Which doesn't make it any less canon, since ZUN has stated that all manga are collabs and, therefore, whatever the artist does gets his seal of approvation.

@@normlaurant5881 A massive character trait wouldn't be left for the mangaka to decide on her own, if ZUN expressed cleary that he didn't want Okina to be in a wheelchair, that the artist would never go after it.

@@psychicfire8232 Not necessarily. ZUN has made it clear he doesn't like when Touhous are sexualized in official materials. Alphes still went and sexualized Yuugi and other characters in the early fighting games. Alphes' art was still released with those games as they were. Though, Alphes got permanently removed from contributing to the series after release and hasn't worked with ZUN since. So, there must be more to it going on and Okina being in a wheelchair again really might be just Mizutaki's doing.

@@kalimatronix in real life there exists wheelchair users who are also capable of walking in some circumstances. there are people who use their wheelchairs due to pain but that pain isn't present every single day. I think it was important for touhou to have some representation for this group.

@@HyperVanilo I mean, it's actually true (like how tf do you dodge a bullet if you can't see it). As a person who actually played WBaWC, thanks to its system - you don't see bullets as clearly as you could've as these effects are too bright and big, and with ZUN's later trend of making bullets near white and small - and you can get frustrated with it. You can argue that PC-98 games also suffer from this, but at least these bullets mostly weren't on bright, almost white background

Not quite on Seihou Shuusou Gyoku. While it was the debut of Windows Reimu; Marisa's appearance was not the same as Windows Marisa. Unless Windows Marisa can spawn *Flandre's Wings from her hips* [Her dress also looks a bit different, but that varies anyway from game to game]. Her hat also dosen't quite appear to be like the modern Marisa, but that could just be ZUNArt. Marisa also notably lacks her broom [Although she lacks this in GFW too] And yes; Marisa has this weird habit of spawning wings in PC-98. Also no; I'm not kidding. Interestingly Marisa also has the ability to clone herself in this fight... like Flandre. The only real difference Reimu has is she's duel-wielding Goheis, which isn't too strange given her Gohei changes every game anyway. Marisa is basically in some sort of intrim design.

UM confirms that the yin-yang orbs that Reimu uses were actually made by the game's stage 4 boss, Misumaru. 2-part plots, sure, but with the reveal of 19, we have our first ever 3-part plot (being WBaWC, UM, & the upcoming UDoALG, or Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost). As of 18.5, 100th Black Market, Marisa has finally overtaken Reimu in terms of overall game appearances, making her the series' most prolific character.
