You are actually doing what I would do if I were “unattached”. I love America’s open roads and the ability to take them anywhere at any time - it is the personification of American Freedom. My Holy Grail would be to take US281 at its beginning all the up to Canada, then over and down US83 all the way back. Probably seems insanely boring to many people, but it would be right up my alley.

Ha! Your mom had the same expression on her face that I did a few weeks ago when I was in Columbia looking at the World’s Largest Fire Hydrant. I met an interesting man outside of the Tunnel Vision mural that gave me its whole history and informed me the artist is coming back soon to freshen it up. He is in his 80’s!

The roadrunner never had a problem running through the painted tunnels. The coyote however, not so much. It was usually splat city for him.

the large tower near bull.street is owned by wis tv in Columbia. it was built way back and those big drums were new technology back in the day. they are obsolete today, they just left them up there. there are new satellite....antenna...installed today.
