Everyone that goes fishing has a dream fish they would love to catch. You would think Matt Watson would have caught his by now, but he hasn't. It's not a marlin out of a helicopter, jet ski or surfboard, it’s not a Giant Bluefin from a dinghy, or even a great white shark on a hand line. It is catching a Black marlin out on his home patch in the Bay of Islands, and doing it in his dinghy would be the icing on the cake. So join Matt on his ultimate fishing quest, and live the drama, anguish and excitement as he encounters the fish of his dreams.

I have fished in quite a few different places over the years, mostly Florida and the Caribbean, but I have always wanted to fish around "Na Zeelin" and Australia. I would also love to catch Barramundi, grouper, marlin, tuna, shark, big snapper, and whatever else I can get into. I caught a really nice black fin tuna in Saint Thomas (which is a fairly rare fish for St Thomas) along with a 58.5" 28 lb Mahi Mahi, countless 4' barracuda, and that black fin tuna. I live near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the northeastern US now, so unless I go up to Lake Erie for pike and muskie fishing, lake trout, and salmon, there isn't too much thrill for me around here besides big flathead catfish.

I did Tarpon off Deerfield Beach in a kayak when I lived down there.. some of the best fishing I ever did. ( biggest was about 165 lbs.)..miss it a lot .. now back in Atl.

There is nothing more satisfying than going out to target a species and a chance to land a rare catch while using your intuition skills tactics etc, all u. Thats y i think paying charters is cheating. Might as well go to the fish market. I know how he feels. My first time landing a very large fingermark with my own knowledge left me shaken in the knees and elbows. U know it is soo satisfying when u tenses up ur stomach and once its over its like someone punched u in the guts. Only twice have i felt like that and i can tell you that ill do anything for that adrenaline rush again, how ever after cracking the code to catching them its no fun.
