Tuesday 5th December saw Tyseley based GWR Castle No. 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe' make an appearance on its former stomping ground, at the head of the 'Merchant Venturer'. Promoted by Vintage Trains, the tour would run from Solihull to Bristol Temple Meads and return, travelling via Banbury, Oxford, Swindon and Bath.
The 4-6-0 is seen in fine form on the outward journey, as it powers along the Great Western Main Line at Shrivenham, on the outskirts of Swindon.
