That moment at around 3.20 when the 777 made it's appearance as 507 001 was leaving - a timely reminder that an era is ending and a new one beginning.

The 507s were Introduced in 1978 so therefore it is 45 years

Just quoting what's on the train sir. I did question the 46 years but I'm guessing that's because it will last till next year 👍

507001 is predetermined to be the very last unit of the 507s/508s to be withdrawn from service next year. It will then remain as a heritage preservation unit permanently in this new revert tribute to its original livery. Hence why they've written "proud to serve ... for 46 years" on it.

@@andywilliams7323 Okay but the Liverpool City Region combined authority did not exist in 1978 and another. point, the Merseyrail electric network does not serve all of the Liverpool City region , only parts of it.. It does not serve Halton or St Helens and now has only 2 stations in Knowsley.
