Warren Buffet sells. Cathie Woods sells. All the CEO's sell. But the analysts tell retail to buy, buy, buy and then hold FOREVER. Someone said, - don't quote what Warren Buffet says, just watch what he does! So good you're telling them what how long Buffet holds his shares.

The covered call strategy would limit the upside. Tesla tends to be very volatile for 5 or 6 years and then have a big spike where the price goes up 10 fold. No one can exactly time the moment when the spike happens. The best strategy is buy and hold in order not to miss such runs. A covered call limits you big time.

The issue I have with this is 20 years from now 100K is not worth what 100K is today. I understand your principal here of compounding gains but simplifying it way too much. You are going to get assigned at some point or have to roll which will eat into your premiums you are collecting. Covered calls work best in sideways/down markets

I would do it with Apple because I wouldn’t care selling Apple, but I would hate to see those Tesla shares go.

Tesla will likely offer REAL dividends in the future - rather big ones at that is my guess. Same for NVIDIA.

Very informative video as always Felix. My question is, since these covered calls are written against well established companies, should a seller not buy insurance(Put) just in case the stock or market tanks? I doubt any of the three companies mentioned would lose half of their stock price anytime soon. I appreciate what you do for the retail investor community!

In 2019 I decided TSLA is large enough fraction of my savings. I have not touched those shares since. In March I decided I can sell TSLA PUT if I sell covered call when I got 100 shares of TSLA. I have earned 4000$ with that. BUT had I bought and hold 100 TSLA, I would have earned 24600 - 17100 = 7500. (Excluding call I bought in April. It is now up 8335$) I will continue this game. I have much more than 100 shares, so I can take higher risks.
