Hey Gearshifters! Check out Part 1 of my 50,000 mile service on my 2020 Harley Davidson Sport Glide, GiGi. Master Technician Keith Brown walks us through the service with fun lagniappe (extra bonuses) about my favorite passion-motorcycles.
The more I learn, the less I know; and, I could not be happier. I am a lifelong learner and I am passionate about sharing my experiences. I want to inspire more women, to ride more. I hope to inspire someone else to get out of their own way, stop letting fear run their life, and learn to ride a motorcycle or ride the one they have more.
Thank you Crossroads Harley-Davidson in Wilkesboro , NC for your support. I appreciate you all 💗
Keep your knees in the breeze,
Jordan

Thank you so much for posting! Now, that is exactly the correct pace to be servicing a motorcycle. That technician clearly knows his task, off pat. It's nice to see a technician who doesn't rush and doesn't forget!

i recommend changing the fork oil every other year and you can vacum pump out the oil and get 99% of it. like all oil it breaks down and get moisture in it. harley only says rebuild after 50k which for some ( not me) could be 5- 10 years and thats stupid. same with break fluid.

@@ShesShiftingGears ps on your bike its really easy. but you need one special tool. which you can make yourself and not spend 38$ on. the the cap is the same size as a 5/8 sparkplug socket. cut that off ,it fits a 3/8 drive ratchet wrench. so you end up with this little tiny thing you can throw in your tools instead of the huge 38$ socket. that is a 1/2 drive. all my tools fit in a tool roll and i can almost rebuild my bike on the side of the road if i have to. I've change all the shitty torques to much better Allens ect...

A new seat , Imagine my surprise ..LOL ..look forward to seeing how that looks in #2 video.. 50k service on a 20 ..that's some saddle time..!! ...Perhaps you might enjoy an Iron butt run .. they were much fun when i was a younger man ..though haven't done a cannonball yet : )"""

Finding the right seat is still a challenge. I’m going to give this one a few thousand miles to break in and see what I think then. I love riding long distances-I rode 1100 in under 24hrs to get to South Dakota in 2 days. I kept receipts and pictures, but I still need to send in the paperwork to join the IBA. I had fun riding it-and would love to do a few more rides like that each year. It would be so cool to do the cannonball race!

@@ShesShiftingGears My bad..thought Bob's Giveaway would fit your bike !!....Being a long haul trucker for 40+ .. LD rides are just in my blood although ive done enough sleep deprivation runs for one lifetime !!..Thing about the cannonball is you are pretty much running flat out which ups the antee greatly from crazy fines to imprisonment to great injury or death ..its been enough to discourage me from running it so far ..!!

Long haul trucker-man you have endurance! I love the seat Bob’s Garage is giving away-too bad it doesn’t fit my bike. Thanks for watching. Ride safe!

Nice video! I ride a sport glide 2018, 65000 km… great bike! Changed the air cleaner to a screaming eagle, just a little bit more power.

Thanks for sharing your experience upgrading to the screaming eagle air filter. Did you go anything else to enhance performance in the engine?

@@ShesShiftingGears No, if the engine wants, it can throw me off the bike anytime... ;) It's power and torque are more than sufficient to bring me whereever I want. Did you? Plan to?

Came across your channel recently, What got my attention was it's a Performance Orange FLSB, GREAT CHOICE ! My wife has one as well, I also have a Performance Orange, 2020 Street Glide Special, We get a lot of double takes when riding, lol Was curious to know where you found the black exhaust heat shields ? I recently went through a blackout change on hers and am eliminating the chrome parts on her bike, however I have not found the black heat shields yet, Thanks in advance, Paul and Linda, Ride Safe ! 😎

Hi Paul and Linda- love that your bikes both are Performance Orange-no doubt y’all are turning heads! A friend of mine with a Sport Glide gave me her stock heat shields that I had powder coated. I gave my stock shields to a friend who was learning how to powder coat, otherwise I would have gladly sent them to you. There is a Facebook group for sport glide owners. Someone there may be getting rid of their stock exhaust heat shields, if you don’t want to powder coat yours.

I would like to know if your bike here with the 50,000 miles on it has the stock motor with no engine mods. One reason I ask is some people say they run hot and could be bad for the motor but the big question is with the stock motor and engine oil breather that allows oil to get sucked into the intake alot of people say and sell parts so the breather is ran outside so not to put carbon on top of the pistons. So here you are with all these miles and still running fine. Maybe it is best just to leave the motor alone and run it stock.

Hi Eric. My motor is stock with no engine modifications. I have had no problems with it, just regular service intervals-and the 50k was a big one. The forks were rebuilt as part of the service; so, I had considered upgrading my suspension. After talking about it with Keith, I decided to stick with what I have for now.

Go check out some of the Kevin Baxters videos about sumping issues. If he was wiping oil off of the throttle blade, good chance there is some carbon buildup as you mentioned. The oil pumps were updated in the 20-year model, but I might be off by 1 year. My 2021 has the upgraded pump and I have been keeping tabs on it, but I just reached my 1,000 mile break-in period. Kevin Baxter goes through all of the info about why, how, and what to look for.
