Good, concise video. Do note, however, that the lens group you remove at 5:55 is a doublet, not a single element. In my experience, fog frequently forms between its two elements ... and I have found no way to split them apart for cleaning. Frustrating!

very helpful video! I was able to get the front element on a lens I picked up from Goodwill cleaned up nicely. Still some very small dust, but glad to be rid of the fungus that was on the element. BTW, when working on the back element portion, where do the spring and ball need to go? I noticed it was still sitting on your work area as you reassembled.

Yes, I left them out to de-click the lense. Some people install gear on the aperture adjusting ring to use manual focus while filming.

Hello. I did everything exactly the same as in tutorial (about 50 times), and everything is fine till final locking: there is no way to set two red dots in the same position - the mount rotates and blocking about 7 millimeters earlier. Any ideas what to do with this problem?

Good how to video, have always been apprehensive with the rear mount of FD LENSES. Curious, you went from a 50mm 1.8 to a 24mm 2.8 😊

That was great- thanks-was that some lubricant you applied to the aperture ring? also where do that tiny screw and spring fit in?

I used Lucas Oil White Lithium Grease. You fit the spring in first, then there's a little ball that you align on top of the spring in the direction of little gears on the lens body. Hopefully that helps.

Great video, I learnt a lot but do you HAVE to declick the aperture ring. Will it still work without declicking. Sorry a bit confused by this bit. Thankyou
