A magnificent rendition, one of the greatest I've heard. It all fell into place for him on the night. For me the greatest rendition is by the little known lyric tenor from Azerbijan, the late Rashid Bebudov. It's there somewhere on KZfaq. Checkout Rashid's incomparable High C.

I think Calleja gets quite an unfair amount of bashing by 'critics'. Not the prettiest sound and a bit nasally but he has a solid technique.

I like Calleja very much, a true lyric tenor. We have so many great singers now, I don't know why people say the singers of the past were better than today's singers.
