Well gentlemen, just came across you podcast, Irish American first generation American, son of two pioneers from Roscommon & alcoholic. 4.5years sober. Love the podcast because very close ties to the Irish community. Completely enthralling from a true Irish perspective. Finally addicted to something positive. Keep it up. I will catch all the episodes eventually. Thank you so much and I truly grateful to have found you two lads.

I can relate to so much of your story, the lies, to myself and to those close to me, the co-dependency, the enabling, the exhaustion and the desire to end my life to get away from my problem filled life, to those who helped me and continue to help me, Thank you. I'm not 100% but I'm getting closer every day.

Well done Susan! 👏 so many girls can relate to the lifestyle your were living. The shame and the guilt, unfortunately it does seem part of the culture in Cork in late teens early 20s in particular the party scene and going out in town and is kept very well hidden. Thank you for breaking the silence and hopefully giving more people the encouragement to make changes in their lives. Another brilliant podcast lads. 👏

Great talk, congratulations to both. It's a double edged sword with addiction, both people suffer greatly and the trauma both sides goes through. Fair play to Susan and those who work on themselves after ceasing using to make positive and good decisions in recovery, some run into situations that will eventually create more havoc to all especially themselves.

My dad's cousin was big into alcohol and drugs(his liver was just done) and wonder if that's a reason he never drank. I never touched the drink until I was 25 (socially/moderately). I'm 27 now. (note: I'm not from Ireland)

Excellent podcast. Susan has been blessed to have Mark as her saving grace. Great man. Shame is such an awful thing, and so is pride. Well done for rising above them Susan. Bless you both, it's obvious the genuine love you share for one another. 16 months off the drink myself now, absolutely no looking back, one of the best things I've done for myself and my life. Love, and miss, how the Northside ladies speak and express themselves.
