Today I used a land plane for the very first time with my ‪@Kubotatractorcorp‬ B2601 compact Tractor. I used the ‪@EverythingAttachments‬ Land Shark Land Leveler. They call it the EA Xtreme Tractor Land Leveler. ‪@LandPrideImplements‬ calls their version of the land plane a grading scraper. Having not used one before, I was really impressed with this attachment. It offers a similar function as a box blade or box scraper, with very different results. I hope you enjoy the demonstration. Thank you for watching and please subscribe and "like" the video. I'm really glad you're here! -Ed
This is by no means how to level dirt, or how to use a land plane, or a land plane review. It's just my first experience and first impression using one.

We have a Kubota dealer here that told me that he just cringes when a new tractor owner wants to buy a box blade. He told me that he seen many a driveway destroyed by someone with a box blade that did nort know what they were doing. I will have to ask him his impression of the land plane. I have never been around one. The only ones that I see in use are on you tube. It looks like it did the trick in this video. I was impressed anyway. Good job Ed. Loved the drone landing. The drone footage too. I will miss you Monday night. I will be out of town and working late. There is always the archives. Been there before. See you for the next one Ed. God bless.

Kubota L3240 with a Landpride GS1572 here, 2000 foot + long driveway. Land plane(Land pride calls it a grader scraper) is worth every penny. Land planes are meant to level and distribute material. Box blades are meant to carry material to be deposited when operator lifts implement. Both have their place. Good video to demonstrate!

Hi, I'm looking to buy a land plane (possibly soon...like tomorrow) So you're 32 HP tractor handles the 6 footer ok? That's my only concern. I have a 35 HP tractor that weights 4500 lbs. I should be ok with the GS1572 you think?
@Matt-mq1ep
@Matt-mq1ep 2 жыл бұрын
@@isaackvasager9957 I think you should be just fine with a 6 ft. My tractor is about the same weight. I do have front wheel assist / 4 wheel drive. The land plane kind of skims along and rolls everything around, so its not like you are dragging a huge load. Also for what its worth i have since added 2 cutting edges to the back side of the plane rails. It adds some weight to the implement and when you get to the end of the driveway or working in a corner you can feather out material in reverse nicely.

Nice job Ed, I've never used a land plane but I can definitely see they have some advantages over the box blade. When I ordered my tractor the only two implements I chose was the box blade and a sickle bar mower. I like both implements. Probably I won't buy a land plane as my drive is only 150' long. But in your case I can see this as a must have implement.

I think if I had to choose one I’d go with a box blade. But when refinishing gravel roads a land plane is hard to beat. I built mine 60” wide to use on the BX but it almost too big when dragging uphill and it’s too narrow for the bigger tractors. Oh well we live and learn. I might sell mine and build a 7ft for the larger tractors eventually. Enjoyed the video!

Good video describing the differences but think you missed what I think is the most obvious and what makes them different?. The land plane has a open box vs box blade has a wall to keep material in. 👋 Hi there, I live on a bit of a hill and I'm always thinking about erosion and water run off. I'll be purchasing a newer tractor soon and your video has been fantastic. I'm thinking in my case a box blade would be more beneficial just because of the amount of trails to upkeep; they are not level in areas, by design for water run off. Thus, I'm hoping the box blade will allow me to better move/drop dirt in areas that it's needed while also maintaining the trails. 🤔 Which do you think would be better for trails (used for horse, motorcycles, atv, ect. most trails are dirt with no gravel but some roots)???
@MyClutteredGarage
@MyClutteredGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much. A box blade does sound like the best choice since you may need to move dirt, as you pointed out. Besides that, even a more basic and more economical scraper blade can be great for trail maintenance. Good luck, and congratulations! -Ed

I prefer to have a crown on my driveway so water doesn't stand on it. Can you accomplish this with a land plane?
@danielniquette5187
@danielniquette5187 3 жыл бұрын
On the model shown, you can adjust the height of the blades differently on both sides. Having the right side a little lower than the left side will do the job. Or you can adjust the tree point arms so on side is lower than the other to incline the whole implement. Once the crown is establish, I guess you would have to level the land plane so it won't incerease the crown too much.
@MyClutteredGarage
@MyClutteredGarage 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Douglas. Like Daniel said, you can adjust the 3 point arms but you'd have to ride the 3 point rather than dropping it. I'm guessing this is reason to have both a blade a plane. You can make the crown with the blade, then finish the surface with the plane. All still pretty new to me! Thanks for watching. -Ed
