Love how this car is on almost 341km. Most people here in the UK start getting worried when their car hits 100k miles. Proof here that well maintained and highly modified cars can do way more than that!

Almost certainly not the original bottom end but maybe, hard maybe. They tend to die around that mileage, to see one with 600hp survive more than 100k miles with the original bottom end would be shocking to me.

@@johnnymatias3027 No European car dies at that mileage, that's still low. Anything below 600-700k km's when properly maintained will not have any significant wear on the internals. I've seen engines with 900k opened up still have original honing in the cylinders, that's how little wear there was. Most engines are designed to be within original operating specs at 1 million kilometers when used normally. That's because some people don't use them normally and there has to be that safety margin of durability built in. In fact, theoretically, a properly maintained engine in ideal conditions can work forever and operate forever, with zero wear. It's just that this theorically ideal scenario doesn't exist in reality because fuel is never perfect, lubrication is not always brand new, and engines don't operate constantly at exact same temprature. It's those factors that produce wear, so properly maintaining engines is key, oil, oil filters, fuel filters, proper fuel, gaskets when needed, piston rings, etc. All those are wear and tear parts that manufacturers plan for replacement after certain time or mileage, and if you stick to those manufacturer recommendations, your engine will work forever, the rest of the car will rust to pieces before the engine fails. The issue is most people nowadays don't service their cars at all and just lease them for 2-3 years, put a bunch of issues onto them and then those cars are sold again, not maintained by new owners either, and that's the circle of unreliability. Especially in the US, where shockingly like 90% of car owners don't ever take them to a official dealers service as the manufacturer recommends. 90% of new cars on US roads never had a oil change done.
@johnnymatias3027
@johnnymatias3027 2 жыл бұрын
@@derbigpr500 you are wrong about so many things in this comment its hard to want to correct you. European cars aren't some paragon of reliability, I'm a mechanic, I'm aware of their shortfalls and I'm not sure where you even got 600-700k kms, I almost guarantee you the average miles driven before a car dies isn't that high for any brand or any country, let alone an entire continent. I literally work on these Volvos daily, you're lucky if you hit 400k kms without issues. Also, cars don't magically stop wearing their internals when operating at their proper temp with new oil, it will wear less than at other temps with worse oil, gas, coolant etc, but it's simply not true at all that engine components don't wear at all at operating temp. I'd say if perfectly maintained, most new cars won't have an issue until around 150-200k miles. You're right about one thing: most people don't properly take care of their vehicles but I've seen dozens of Volvos who's owners have come in early for every oil change, gotten all recommended fixes done prior to them becoming critical or damaging other components and those 5 and especially the 4 cylinders will still burn oil like a mother fucker because Volvo decided to skip an oil compression ring for less friction on the drivetrain but the increased oil consumption made those engines driving grenades, as a badly consuming engine will consume all its oil and then destroy itself between 2 proper intervaled oil changes if the oil isn't checked regularly, difficult when some of these cars have defective oil measuring modules and no dipstick. If you do everything perfect, you also need luck, a spare car and a good towing service to stretch a car out for over 500k kms, as in, not a vehicle with any defective components or that any defective components are put onto during fixes.

I'd be willing to bet that engine has been rebuild and sleeved. These engines crack cylinder liners on stock power.

@@apancher Wrong, I know people who run 500whp on these engines with stock internals. B5244T5 are forged from the factory.

Best sounding car in the world. The B5254T4 will always be my favorite engine. 7:27, you won't regret it.

The B524TX was stronger. No cracked cylinders on it. Just swap the 2.5 with the 2.4 and let's go. Or forged engine

@@thomas56701 Unfortunately true, the B5254T4 has issues with cracked cylinders, but it won't stop me from buying a V70R. But but, I need to take that into consideration. Perhaps have a separate fund for a built engine for when the stock engine inevitably shits itself.
