DO NOT EVER PUT MASON JARS IN THE OVEN!!! THEY WILL SHATTER AND CAN EVEN EXPLODE! Most Mason jars are NOT tempered for the heat of an oven they are meant to be immersed in a heat for a few moments when canning that water can incur but that is it!!! I hope everyone and theirs are happy, healthy and safe in this crazy work we are living in.

Eve Betteridge Hmmm...good point. Are you sure it’s not the other way around though? I think it’s the rice that keeps the flour from clumping. I’ve seen restaurants do that with salt, they put a few grains of rice in the shaker. But, yeah, I think you’re right it’s probably to reduce moisture/clumping. 👍🏻

Some people use rice to absorb moisture to prevent it clumping up the flour. Some use it in salt shakers too
