I do have a question, after one get the snap ring off.Can one pick all away around the silvo to get it out.My transmission still in place,and i was told those things break. Thanks bud, but its a long swim for a beer .

@@YepThatsIt I was chasing thinking it was a solenoid or valve body , now I know it’s that I’ll leave it alone if I’m pulling the trans I would just rebuild it it’s got 180k on it

About 5 min in you exactly explain whats the problem im having which is no drive or reverse unless i put some acceleration down then it throws it into drive or reverse

Hi whats the general life span of these boxes and recommended fluid intervals? Please and thanks currently my 08 fg has 70 000 ks and was quite clean when i serviced it.

hi, with any transmission we recommend filter service ( not just drain and refill ) clean factory magnet ( install extra magnets is beneficial ) every 50,000km. once trans has done over 200,000km do every 25,000km. dont forget these trans have band adjustment as well. and also good idea to fit a bypass trans oil cooler. cheers

Hi ,I’ve stripped mine , though for some reason the direct clutch drum will not come , the front clutch pack all came apart, it is ok to try pressing it off?

hi, if the internal clutch teeth are worn and stuck, after you remove the circlip and pressure plate, try knocking down on a flat block of wood. the clutches should come out. cheers

Hi.. at 04:30 you talked about the valve of the pump.. after one hour of parking on a slope ground (not level) my 2010 explorer xlt 5R55S trans doesn’t engage. It is like pushing accelerator with N. The vehicle starts moving very very slowly after few seconds. Then every thing is normal. I have been through this issue for 6 years. And still exists. Do you think the valve is the cause of the problem? Thank you

hi, definitely part of your problem, also check valves in valve body for wear ( see our kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l62DoJuZnNKtlKM.html ) and when you lower valve body dont forget to air pressure test apply ports. cheers

i have a 5r55s 4wd transmission..the bearing in the very back that the output shaft goes thru its mounted in the case went bad and i cant find it anywhere ..whats it called or how can i get it ..thanks
