They both failed in where the other didnt. Still two great programs. I think a BOTB needs to be brought back so both bands can showcase in a dedicated environment. TxSU has the power/aggression/song selection/diversity PV has the full sound/balance

For the size pv is I know they can definitely be louder but it’s still very blended and I like that

I'm a longtime fan of both programs so there is no winner to me but PV has the size and power to run the SWAC but their book has to get bigger each week we get the same songs and TSU is on the come up again if the had about 50 more ppl they would be trouble but at their size they are still no push over... Great job to both programs for representing the H!!!

22:37 says it all. Both bands played the same song. PV was better. Even when TSU replayed one of PV's songs earlier, PV was better. PV won this battle.

@@NSULegion everywhere TXSU isn't. I know you hear they horns sticking out. To be cranking, PV is more balanced for a SWAC band. And PV don't usually crank too much.

So both bands were bringing heat TXSU executes their songs better and have better arrangers. TXSU is very unbalanced after awhile you get tired of hearing euphoniums and tubas. PV is on the come up just need to execute their songs better there are times when it gets sloppy on parts of the song which has been a consistent theme all season. I will give PV the W here.

TXSU playing to their strength, if they only had double the trumpets they have now and maybe a few extra tubas they wouldnt be gettin the flack they got this year. That said, I would give TXSU the W since they had a better book. Truth be told, I wish this battle coulda been longer and had more variety in song selection. Also, just my opinion but I think PV and TXSU would get more props from other SWAC schools (and the other HBCUs in general) if their books had stuff like Circle of Life or All Around the World, aside from the usual latest radio hits.

I know this the storm page but txsu got the W the song selection was way more diverse dynamic technical and rangier than pv I mean to go from im dreaming to lenny williams sativa shake your groove thang and that song after pv plaved mo bamba shows the whole repertoire as to where pv sounded the same on every song I dont even think pv changed the key in any song

But the 04 Storm wasn’t aggressive and what’s aggressiveness if the tone, balance and releases are trash. Aggressive has nothing to do with quality playing and sound production. It’s a lot of shitty “ aggressive “ bands whatever that means. So you calling it a tie no matter the tone , intonation, balance blend , tuning and wrong notes ok. Cmon this coming from a former storm member as well

@travis there are other channels that are tsu heavy and the comments reflect that as well. You are going to get different perspective on different channels. In another channel all comments are for tsu lol
