You make it look easy! I turned the fuel up on my 6.2, but I was apprehensive about pulling the throttle shaft out and replacing the o rings. I might just go ahead and do it now.

I happen to have the ATS turbo system on my 83 K20. Pulled out the factory 6.2 and installed the military J-code 6.2. I bought a new injector pump but I also bought the 6.5 Turbo injectors. Wow what a difference. I haven't even touched the fuel screw yet.

You should have sprayed the top section of the pump off first with some brake cleaner before starting so you know no dirt chunks will fall in and use a clean towel to set everything on instead of the dirty truck. Also, going in through the side of the pump is a better and easier way of turning up the pump though I get you needed to replace the seals. Try picking up some HotShots EDT and use it every fill up and you should notice easier starts, more power and throttle response plus increased fuel economy. Don't forget that ULSD ( Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel ) has significantly less lubrication than the Diesel from back in the day so it doesn't adequately lubricate the the whole fuel system and will cause issues in these old systems without a proper remedy.

I've never seen an intake plenum like that before, where did that come from.? Good job trucks getting better

I have recently fitted an ATS kit and made up a 3” exhaust. I’ve not had any noticeable improvement in power yet. Plan on turning the pump up. Seemed like it was worth while to you?

Hey man you see pretty knowledgeable about these pumps, my truck has the same style db2 pump, it starts idles for about 4 minutes then dies, I keep finding air in the clear return hose on the top of the pump I put throttle shaft seals in the pump after doing headstuds, I can’t find a leak anywhere in my fuel system even put UV dye in the tank and there’s none, tried feeding the LP out of a gas can do it can’t be the tank, should I try gravity feeding the pump & see if I still end up with air in the line? & if so any idea on what I could I have messed up?

Damn is that an ATS Kit? If u bought it from someone i think i know who lol. sounds good tho.
