Excellent question RoushRS3. The system that comes with this isn't accurate. Perhaps someone can be of help. The only thing I can think of is making sure most of the oil is out. Then when you do another "oil extraction" you pour out the oil and measure it. Glad you liked my video.

starastronomer yah I thought of that too I just wish there was a more convenient way like the gauge was actually designed for! Hahaha

I used clear vinyl tape to replicate the gauge marks with black permanent marker, poured in 2 gallons of oil, and then laid the tape with the adjusted marks onto the tube over the entire length with my black mark at the fluid line as my guide. Yes, I can still see the red marks, but I know the black mark I made correlates to the red number just above it. Works perfectly. To test it, I poured another 1 gallon into the hopper and it hit the black mark just under the number 3 spot on. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

You're welcome! Hot oil would flow easier than cold oil to a point. I don't think the "oil level" tube is accurate at all and oil being hotter would not make that difference. The best way would be to empty the tank as much as possible and measure what you poured out.

On my ram 3500 is a lot of oil, and it drains down with hogh flow, and it gets spilled all over the place. This tool makes it a lot easier and cleaner.

Take the quick connect off take it to a hardware store like ace hardware and let one of the employees know you need a 90 for the extractor add teflon tape when you put the 90 on that is made for leak proffing

I would be very hesitant to use with gasoline mixes. Please call the manufacturer.

I'm going to have to give that shot, though I might just install separate pressure regulators on my extractors so we don't have to be fiddling with shop air pressure in between each oil change.

MrLMJohnson No way. Got to have air flow continuously flowing to keep it working to pull a vacuum.

@@starastronomer Of couse it would. The compressed air flows through the venturi fitting on top of the tank to create a vacuum in the tank, does it not? If a shut off valve is added to the inlet, it could be closed off after the tank reached max vacuum, thereby allowing it to be used remotely for a short period. How long a period could it be used remotely to suck up non-viscous liquid.

Captain Tommy Savoy no because it was just new oil in a bucket. No need to heat it up. If it was still in the engine then yes I would make sure engine was warm.

Are you talking about the loud hiss in the middle of the video?
