It’s not about supporting it or not, it’s about accepting the reality of its existence and doing the best we can to understand it, adapt with it and reduce its harm.

@@DesignerUp how does one "reduce its harm" if one continues using generative AI, therefore improving it with each use?

@saniainez, you’re assuming that only harm can come from using AI. I choose not to deal in absolutes. Everything has a dark and light side. By having people from different backgrounds and walks of life interacting with AI, bias assessment, source citations, zero-party data, data provenance, governance, human intervention etc. those are all safeguards that we can implement. I don’t think there is a turning back now and although I think that would be great, Pandora’s box has already been opened. I’m not pro AI but I am a realistic and take the middle way.

@@DesignerUp in no way I'm refusing the development of AI *as a whole* - but as of now, there is no such thing as "ethical use" of genAI. Especially commercially, as in a KZfaq monetised video. Yes, there is no going back, but as long as those "safeguards" are yet to exist, genAI's existence continues to do more harm than good.
