Gavin, I just want to commend you on the exceptional video content you continually provide. Being a fellow reloader, I know the amount work (time) that goes into reloading ammo. I can't imagine all the extra effort it takes on your part to film and edit videos, build a cabin, do machining, etc. etc. It is clear you are a very diligent and hard worker, and I appreciate the time and effort you put in to giving us great content. I have been using the ADG brass in my PRC for about a years now seems to be really good brass accept it require anealling regularly. Reloader26 is an amazing powder for the 6.5 PRC and I have been using heavy target bullets with excellent performance. Seems to me in my 1-7 twist barrel that 57.5 grains of powder is the winning ticket or right at 3140fps has been great results with 150 sierra, 153.5 Berger, 153 Atip and the 144 grain Berger HBLR this same charge with H1000 was also just as good. CCI 250 primer has also been a work horse here. Thank you for the information

That ring you see around the ojive of the bullet you see when seating a bullet, I have seen that when loading new sized brass. I always thought that the ring was from using a hornady seating die that the seating mandrel just didnt match up with bullet profile. Glad you brought that up, maybe talk about fixing that in detail. I also use that neck graphite lube you were using and imperial sizing wax.

Swift Scirocco in 130 grains has a heavy bonded pure copper jacket. Mushrooms beautifully. And contrary to popular myth they are extremely accurate. Used mine in a 264 WM. And the 200 grainer at 3300 out of a 338 RUM was a killing machine in Namibia.

Hey Gavin, I am using Nosler Accubond LR in 150 gr for my Custom Tikka 6.5 PRC and am getting very good results. Took the first moose with it last year, 1 shot at about 200 yards and it minced the lungs and liver. I am using 61.0 gr MagPro, Lapua Brass, Fed 210 primer with 2 thousandths neck tension. Getting 3011 fps average with SD of 2 and ES of 5 and well within 1 MOA grouping. Zero pressure signs, but 3000 fps is enough for my hunting purposes so I don't plan to test it any higher.

160 gr RN! Go retro and kill some Bullwinkles. Since the PRC achieves higher velocities than the Swede or CM, how about a good 156 gr bullet? Go heavy. The Norma Oryx comes to mind. I am sure there are plenty of others. Loving this series. Learning a lot. Amazing the results you are getting with basic initial load development. Must be some rifle. I will start reloading soon. I do not have anything nearly as accurate, but this is heartening. I should be able to find good 308 and 223 loads without much trouble, among others. Plus proper Garand loads, various milsurps, and of course handgun loads. Thanks for all your work.

156 Berger EOL, Hornady brass, 55.8 grn RL 26, Fed 210. Shooting a Christensen Arms MPR. 3 shots cold bore=.25 in group First gun I shot out to 1000 yards with and couldn't be happier with the loads. 7-10 mph crosswind. 5 out of 9 shots on target were in a 5 inch group. Here is my take on your 6.5 Creedmoor. First to be honest I have never shoot a 6.5 in the service I used a 50BMG. Later I started using the 308 round. The 308 has a good enough Colfficiant. I suffered a minie stroke so please bear with me for a moment. The Army and I had long talks and they proceeded to let me use the 308. It worked great for me. I still use it today for hunting on an AR 10 platform. If you want to do a 308 vs 6.5 Creedmoor I would like to see that.

147 hornady eldm or 140 Berger. I have been shooting factory Hornady 147 loaded ammo with fair results giving me a velocity of 2750 fps out of my Ruger precision in 6.5prc. looks like I have my work cut out for me. only had one opportunity to hunt with it last year in west Texas and took a mature male aoudad at 508 yards. took a broadside shot through the heart lung area. He dropped where he stood. The bullet was recovered just under the skin on other side with approximately 80% of its weigh.

Barnes 127 LRX. I know it doesn't have the best BC in the world. But, it expands very well at lower velocities and with the lighter bullet should get greater velocities at the muzzle. Would be a great 800 yard round I think after that, who knows.

Now shooting 0.34 MOA with Hornady 120 gr GMX hand loads, once fired Hornady brass, Christensen Arms Ridgeline, chrono data forthcoming, need to load some more. Had a factory ELDx 143 gr shed a lot of lead in a hog at 60 yards, nothing but the post with a bit of lead left in it. Bullet went in the chest, turned and went diagonally, lodging just under skin on far rear quarter. Prefer not to have that much lead deposited in meat my family will be eating.

Gun builder fiend of mine is in the process of building my 6.5 PRC AR10 that he'll make another custom extra long deep fluted SS bull barrel with an extra long gas tube. Thank God I already bought a large amount of all the loading components last year before all the shortage issues this year. It's a 1/7 twist because I intend to use the biggest bullets available to exploit the bigger powder capacity, Sierra's new 150gr for sure. Target only though, not hunting, so rifle weight and size isn't an issue.

Due to density of copper vs. lead the bullet would be displacing the case powder due to length at that weight.

Hey Gavin! Do you recommend slower burning powders for shorter barrels compared to the same cartridge with a longer barrel? Thanks!

What bullets, you ask? I have a Savage 110 High Country, using Hornady brass, H1000 powder, Federal primers, and 140gr Speer Deep Curl bullets. I like the excellent weight retention of the Deep Curls (99-100%!), and not so pricey as Bergers. I wonder what combo of components can achieve groups like that with Speer Deep Curl 140gr bullets?

How about federal terminal ascent. I believe they are in 130 grain or nosler accubond 140 grain.

There are no fly’s on the good old Speer Grand Slam bullets . The same is true for the tried and tested Nosler Partition bullets.

I just came back from the range, working on my 6.5prc load with the Berger 156gr elite hunter. Getting pretty good results with it so far. Using reloder 25, I'm getting about 3010fps and 0.4 MOA group. Would be interested to see what you come up with for the 156gr elite hunter!

Hey Gavin, could you work up a load with Ramshot Magnum to compare with the Magpro? I'm considering the 147 ELD-M's with Magnum. H1000 is quite popular for 6.5 PRC and it is right between it and Retumbo on the burn chart. It seems like a good fit, what do you think?
