The stock Intercooler pipe on my 2012 F250 blew and the rig lost power. Here is a possible fix for yours. 177,700 miles at time of failure.

You made that look super easy. Thanks. Mine failed at 140k miles while I was towing a camper at 7 at night. I duct taped the rip and put 3 zip ties over it due to nothing available to get the parts needed to fix. The quick repair helped get me home so I can order this kit. Thanks again for your video

Mine broke on an on ramp. drove very gently 10 miles to get home with no heat increase to engine. Thought the Turbo had gone as well. Your video was excellent.

Mine just failed at 179k miles. The pop it made when it blew scared the crap out of me. I looked at the tuner and realized I had zero boost. My mind immediately went to worst case scenario and I thought the turbo had blown. After getting towed home and doing some research I was relieved to find out that it wasn’t going to cost my first born child to repair. 😂

Glad to hear!!!! Sadly I recently had a turbo bearing start to squeal so when I have time I'll be making a video on how to replace the turbo.... hahaha

Same thing happened to me about a 1/4 mile from the house. Heard the pop, looked at my mini max and saw zero boost. I coasted the rest of the way to my driveway hoping I wasn't going to be forced to do an upgrade I want, but I wasn't ready to pay for. Thank God it was just the piping.

My 2015 just went boom on the road while hauling my truck camper. Exhaust filter over limit warning came up. first it said to drive to clean filter. I di then a Big wrench came up on the screen. I went to my mechanic who said he cleared the codes. (didn't work) . Took it to Ford, turned out to be this hose. My wallet hurts from this fix!

Mine failed a few days ago at 182k. Heard a very loud pop so I pulled over on the side of the interstate, popped the hood and found a crack in the exact spot you showed in the video. Ended up calling a few local Ford dealers, found one that had the part in stock and they actually sent someone to deliver it to me 45 mins away! Fixed right on the side of the interstate in 15 minutes. Seems to be a fairly common issue around this mileage.. Anyways, great informative video! Going to look into an aftermarket pipe to make sure this never leaves me stranded again.

Mine just blew off accelerating on the interstate with only 30k miles, the truck shifted to 6th & thought I lost 5th gear until I saw I had no boost.

I have this exact thing happened to me this weeknd I her little wierd boost squeal after I would let off gass for the longest and then recently it got louder and started happening as I was building boost and then all of a sudden I got a swooshhhhing sound when I punched it thanks for the how to replace save me some money just got done doing the fuel filters I have 2015 f250 6.7

Would have been an easier install if you removed the one bolt on the break resivor and moved it out of the way. In any case good job.

Hey thanks for watching! with most autos and pickups- you can just disconnect the battery and drain all residual power (lights on or something) then reconnect. after a little time if all is good it will reset. sorry for the late reply!

Thank you for the video. Yesterday my 2015 6.7 with 157k miles, while driving to get groceries, (yes my F-250 Powerstroke is my 'grocery-getter' as well as other things) went up a hill went BOOM! under the hood. Lost power, noticed no boost on the gauge. Got groceries, limped home. Started to snow, so I left it. Today, (it warmed up to to 33º) I'm going to open the hood and hope it's same as you described here. Went to your link and of course it was out of stock. Looks like everybody's turbo went BOOM. Any other recommendations? Maybe some FlexTape and Zip Ties! (saw that on a previous comment) Thanks again this was quite helpful. I'm not normally a Mountain Dew guy, but it looks like it helped you fix things. I'll hop over to Dollar General and get me a 6-pack. ;)

You’re awesome! I’m just redneck enough to say I’m sure you could rig this up to somewhat work with enough flex tape and zip ties! I’d try it! Or maybe try a muffler bandaid (those are much more robust) I’m sure there are other manufacturer options for the proper repair- but it’s always fun to go full country and have it work! I’d just be gentle with the throttle! This rig is my grocery getter too! With the DEF delete she’s a sweetheart! Good luck!

I thought my trailer suddenly started dragging something ( sounded like I had picked up a large piece of cardboard). Then I realized it varied with the amount of throttle, and not the amount of speed.

I’d say yes… however, my turbo bearings went out probably 7 months later. I don’t think these were related issues. The stock turbos don’t last long..

Excellent question! I never even hooked up the OBDII because the crack was visible and obvious… sorry I didn’t have a code for you!

EPA and Cali have ruined Diesel's. EGR and CV are horrible for the engine and just kill it over time with oil and gunk. All in the name of climate activism. The SCT, DEF and DPF are bad enough but only can choke lower over time and can be replaced....at a rediculous cost. But internal damage from the first 2 items will kill it

hmmmmmmmmmmmm you should have lost power and your engine would also heat up with that inter cooler blown.

It lost power so we looked at why and saw this... had I kept driving it then it would have heated up for sure!

I was hauling almost 10k on the highway when mine blew out. Stopped at a gas station to look at it, I assumed I had blown out a turbo line, because it would only produce about 5 psi before sounding like a ton of air was blowing. Never heated up in about 20 miles. I assume because it was still delivering some boost, and I attempted to drive it within the 5 psi it wanted to make.

What is with all that soot in there. I wouldnt go anywhere till I got that taken car of carbon build up is a clear sign that Catastrophe failure is the next thing. That is serious and needs serious attention now.
