This video is probably the best instructional video I have seen. It should be sold as a “how to create and produce interesting and highly informative instructional how to videos.” 5 *****

Couple of suggestions for those doing this install on a gas RXV. Be aware that this video is for an electric cart. This will become more obvious when installing the rear components. Do follow the video instructions for the front components…it explains/details everything perfectly. When beginning the rear install, get the rear of cart as high above ground as you can…you’ll need it. Prior to removing the leaf springs, disconnect both rear brake cables and remove the driver side brake cable bracket that gets replaced by the kit. We found that when the rear axle is lowered, the brake cables (on our ’09 RXV) became short/stretched and locked the brakes. We ended up re-routing the passenger side brake cable out from under the gas tank to inside the engine bay, then down the outside of the frame rail to have enough cable length/adjustment. Once you’ve lowered the rear of engine/axle per the video, you should install the new (gas) engine drop bracket (#16-017) that’s required/part of the kit. This helps level the engine and reduce the twist/pitch of the axle, making it much easier when re-installing the leaf springs on the new spacers/mounts. This is also a good time to check that all the wiring and cables are not being stretched. We found that the fuel line on our cart needed to be cut loose from its zip-tie at front of engine bay. Now follow the rest of the video instructions for the rear components. Adjust the brakes before installing rear tires.

T Barnhart, You are exactly right as to this video. Found the front install pretty much as you said, the higher the better for lifting the body up to gain room to install the lift blocks. We struggled with the rear install as soon as we dropped the rear driver side axle and on our 2010 RXV we had to open up holes on top shock plate in order to fit properly. Secondly we found the ears for attaching the shock not bent properly in order to attach bolts. Remidied that with torch. I can also add that this is a great time to replace any bushings on the springs or shocks so you may want to have them on hand. My spring bushings were bad so luckily we had new ones on hand. Also had the short brake cable problem after installing lift but was able to get it pulled back out of the frame without removing gas tank. I was on top pulling the cable while my buddy shoved it through the routing holes in frame and lifting up on the tank. That worked great.Found the driver side cable was barely able to reach and was not the adjustable type. After getting everything ready to install tires on rear, the brake needed adjusted due to the tighness of the cable. Though there is an adjusting port on top of the hub with a rubber protectibe cover, we simply pulled the drum and adjusted the brake manually to keep it from dragging. Once again, a good time to clean and inspect/adjust brakes. That all done and front alignment completed as best we could with less that perfectly round and straight tires and wheel, I got some wander and bounce at around 15 and up mph. Hope to find the truest running tires and install on the front and hope that helps. Also found that the 23x6x12 tires were way over inflated to 32-36 psi when the tire states that max pressure to seat bead, and 12 psi cold. The video shows a bare axle and no brake hub for viewing detail, so they made it look like a simple install when in fact it was much more than simple.

Is there a specific reason that the motor brake was removed from this cart?

I have a 6 inch lift in my 2016 RXV I have done the alignment myself and sent back to the place I bought it. The cart swerves at 20 plus mph. Any suggestions

Same problem I’m having too! My darts from one side to the other at only 10mph! Scary!! Someone told me it could be the steering gear box, so I just ordered one.

This is a valuable reference video, however it is showing the rear end with no motor attached, no brake cables or brake hubs and all that that is presently on your golf cart. This isn't a real world install and a little deceptive for the average Joe installing the kit. If you would have mentioned this it might have been beneficial to the do it your selfer. The instructions in kit also do not mention parts, u bolts, hardware that may not apply to your cart but are included for other models. Informative but a little too simple for this install.

I installed a new 6” Madjax lift kit on a 2008 ezgo rxv. When doing the alignment, I have too much toe in but my tie end rods are both maxed out. What should I do?

We saw that and with them unhooked we turned the steering wheel fully to the right and then fully to the left counting the revolutions then set it back to 1/2 of the revolutions with steering wheel pretty well aligned. This gives equal lenght to each side. Next we took the spindle loose and turned the top adjustment almost all the way in except for about a 1/4 inch of thread. after reattaching the top bolt in spindle, we used the bottom adjustment bolts for adjusting camber. That gave us enough threading on top to be safe. That should have been in the instructions and mentioned in the video.
