For me Roland GO 88 sounds the best and I don't need weighted keys just a good sound and a full keyboard 😊

Yamaha is insanely good for the price, im not sure about the keyboards but my teacher makes my pacifica sound like an awesome guitar, a lot more worth than its price tag

Would you suggest Yamaha P45 or Alesis Prestige in terms of build and sound quality? Alesis is 100$ less than Yamaha and portability is not an issue for me.

I prefer the action on the Alesis Prestige and the polyphony and connectivity are much better. Sound is equal, or maybe slightly more sophisticated on the P-45. The build quality on Yamaha products is hard to beat, but at these prices, is durability so important? You are going to outgrow these instruments within a few years anyway if you make any reasonable progress. The Prestige Artist model costs little more than the P-45 and has a screen too, plus high polyphony.

I recently attempted to play as many notes as I could on a P-45 to make it run out of notes, and I didn't notice any drop in notes. There is a difference between having notes dropped and noticing them. If you do have notes dropped but can't hear the difference, then it is not as crucial. 64 notes of polyphony sets a sort of threshold for real-life practical performances. Even the well regarded Yamaha CP33 professional stage piano (2006) had only 64 notes of polyphony. For the kind of performance somebody would use a P45, its polyphony count is more than sufficient. Of course, more is always better, no doubt about it. I am just trying to say that, in practice, certain things are not as relevant as the specs may suggest. I have played both the P-45 and Alesis Prestige many times in Guitar Center stores here in the US, and the P-45 still has the advantage in tone, it has a thicker, richer tone. The micro speaker array is a pretty cool concept on the Alesis, but the larger speakers under the P-45 still provide more robust sound. The P-45 is a minimalist keyboard with high quality on what matters most, while the Alesis Prestige is a relatively feature-rich (for the price) keyboard with pretty decent sound. The question is: are you willing to give up sound quality for a few more features? Personally, I don't think either decision is terribly bad.

@@Instrumental-Covers Yes my P80 only had 64-note polyphony, and I didn't notice any problems. It was a good instrument, but the sound on my P-255 blows the P80 away, and part of that may be the sympathetic vibration, assited by a 256-note polyphony. But you're right, at entry level price, 64+ is fine. There are bigger limitations to worry about with entry level digital pianos

That expression "real piano" is incredibly dated, irritating, and a bit misleading. These digital pianos are great for dabblers, beginners and pre-intermediate students, but are not suitable for experienced players. There are many better portable pianos with superior actions and sounds. They cost a little more of course. The unweighted actions on some of these models reviewed here will really impede any student except for an absolute beginner. 88 keys are not necessary at this end of the market (unless you're really going to use the duo feature with a teacher) and can even be a disadvantage on a portable instrument, but good connectivity is important on a portable instrument, and some of these models don't even have audio lineout, let alone audio in. It's a pity about the speaker placement on the NP32, which has a more sensible number of keys. My congratulations to Alesis for its innovation in bringing good connectivity to entry level digital pianos. Sadly, the Concert 88 doesn't have weighted keys. I know that someone must need this sort of thing, but I think there is a better niche market for 73 weighted keys than 88 weighted. The Alesis Recital Pro and Alesis Prestige are better concepts IMO.

never a piano sounds like a real bass,, best quality they can be ,, when i ear the bass sound on a piano and compare with my bass,, i fk laughing .. when you buy a piano,, its for play piano,, and is the only sounds you have to looking for he sounds great . so you are just a seller,, you present piano, but is not you playing,, thats a joke,, we cant trust you so,,, and you probably dont play bass too ,, lool

Yes, real bass sound is irreplaceable but for musicians who want to have multiple sounds a keyboard is perfect. Not everyone can afford bass, guitar, piano, and drums. So second best option is a keyboard that can mimic these sounds.
